I replaced our Michelin with Bridgestone tires about 2 years ago. They were about $1500 less than Michelin. The ride is great and no sidewall cracking!!! Love the Bridgestones! We purchase from Southern Tire

Man I hate shopping for tires. Maybe a little off-topic. I just bought for my SUV. You can search on amazon for your size. If you find what you think is a bargain, search elsewhere, check prices, reviews, ect. Being shipped for free to a local dealer for install next week.

Goodyear 235/55R20 EAGLE TOURING, $142 vs $192 at the dealer where I'm having them mnt/bal for $64. Not the best tires, certainly not the worst.

Tires

First: I have used Centramatics for 23 years on various RVs. They are great and improved tire wear. Last tires went 80,000 on steers and 120,000 on rear duals.
Second: FMCA tire discount with Michelin is terrific, worth cost of membership. Saved about $1500 on six tires. Program also works for car tires. After purchase they direct you to a local tire shop that will install for free! Don’t know where you are but on west coast Les Schwab is great for Toyo.

We bought our last set from Pomp’s Tire Service (primarily semis and farm trucks). They certainly did us right on Class A with recommendations and price (6 mounted and balanced $1900). ! They are throughout the midwest.

Tires

This is the one thing you don’t want to skimp on. This represents the contact between you and the road. I have 18 years of rv experience behind me. 11 with a 5th wheel and 7 in a motorhome. Last week was my first experience with a flat tire. The driver side tag axle tire picked up a concrete nail, probably at a construction site on 75. I didn’t know it until setting up camp that evening and saw the tire completely deflated but fortunately stayed on the rim flopping around. The rubber kept the wheel from hitting the ground. The next morning I was able to drive it slowly 1 mile to a truck tire dealer. Even though the rim was cutting the tire it held on. I’m not saying Michelin is the only good tire but I’m staying with it. To me it’s worth the few extra bucks.

I just received my order for Toyo M655 replacements. The local tire shops were having problems sourcing the tire type and size I wanted but willing to mount whatever I bring in.

Find your Toyo size and check out Tiresdirect.net.
Good pricing and when I asked fir the age of their tire, they actually went to the warehouse and checked what they had in inventory.

It was in Dec 2020 and the tires had October date codes. Ordered 6 tires in 275/75R22.5 for $2250.
Local shop installed.
I was very pleased with the service and honesty on age of the tires. Other places simply told me that they would be less than 2 years old.

I luckily found my way to Park House Tires in San Diego to replace the 6 year old Michelins
on my recently purchased 2016 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 22R. Old tires only had 25,000 miles but were weather beaten with cracks on the sidewalls. Michelin tires were $300 each.
I got a full set of (6) tires installed and out the door for less than $1,400. "Monte" at Park House Tires in San Diego, Ca. was great. This is a"Big Boys" tire shop that handle Semi's
and large commercial vehicles. Try someplace like this in your area for a tire quote.

Red face FMCA discount on tires

FMCA (Family Motorcoach Association) has discount programs for Michelin and Continental tires. These programs will save you a lot more than the cost of joining FMAC.

I've used the FMCA program in the past and it worked well. The TOYO tires were still cheaper for me and I could get them. There's a real tire shortage right now. My local tire guy said that he couldn't get some Micheline tires.

The tires arrived today and I'm happy. These tires have the date code of 27th week of 2021.
