As others have said, stay on I-10 and after crossing the MS-LA border just stay in the right lane and continue straight onto I-12 towards Baton Rouge, which is about 85 miles from there. Try and time your arrival into Baton Rouge before 4:30 pm or after 6 pm to avoid the most traffic. You will still encounter traffic especially once I-12 meets back with I-10 so be prepared for that, by the way do NOT get off at any exit in Baton Rouge with your rig as the streets are not large RV friendly. As you continue through Baton Rouge on I-10 you will come to an elevated portion of I-10 at this point I recommend that you get in the left lane, as you will have to take a very sharp left curve, obey the speed limit as it is a very sharp curve! Once you come out of that curve you will be at the foot of the Mississippi River Bridge, not sure of the grade but with traffic and that grade just take your time. Once over the bridge it's clear sailing from there. I will be traveling that route later today, heading from my home in Slidell, La, which by the way is a very short distance from when you get on I-12,to Natchitoches, LA which is off I-49 One more thing that may not pertain to you, on I-49 there is a small section that goes through Washington, LA OBEY the speed limit, they issued my wife a speeding ticket for during 75 in a 70 zone. You will also cross the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge, an 18 mile bridge on I-10 so watch your speed on that part also and enjoy the scenery! God Bless and safe travels
