Ice forming
We are having a problem with ice forming in The bottom of the freezer. By the way the ice is layering/building up, it appears there is some form of thawing, refreeze, thaw, refreeze, etc.
The frig has been running constantly, no apparent on/off cycling, Temps are good....just can't figure out what's causing the ice build up.

Had the same issue! It was because the drawer is not completely sealed when shut. After checking this, we had no more problems.

Question: Do you have an ice maker: If no stop reading
Question 2: DO you use a water pressure regulator: If not read on
The ice maker measures not the flow of water, but the time the valve is open. The higher the pressure the faster water flows.. SO if you do not use a regulator and the city pressuire is like 80 to 120 PSI (Actual park measurements) it overflows and depending on the position of the ice bucket can run down onto the floor.
I use ice trays and yes, I occasionally spill a drop or 3 with the same result.
The above answers are also excellent.

Instead of the drawer, it may be a problem with the seal or gasket. Either way, the fridge/freezer is not sealing.

We had that problem, found a small package of frozen had fallen over the back of the drawer and was not allowing the drawer to close tight. Retrieved package, problem solved! Just our experience🚌🚓

Ours had the door lock mechanism (for when traveling) installed in such a manner it prevented the door from completely closing and sealing. I had to remove and make new mounting holes for the lock that allowed door to close. Tommy

Actually guys, it's none of the above..as it turned out it is the defrost drain. For some reason it froze up and will not let the defrost water drain to the evaporation catch tray. Parts are very cheap....cost is pulling out the frig to reach the back compartment to make the fix......have to clean the duck bill drain or replace part all together.

If it a Maytag, and is under 2yrs old Maytag will fix it. They knew they had a problem but on recall. The duckbill is replaced with a p trap fix.

Adding these pictures for reference. Had to do ours a few months ago. Maytag sent the P trap at no cost.
