I've already paid a clear prior owner collision issue of well over 1K and a collision claim on my insurance. This is a question of what they provided for a replacement radiator dying within 3 years of installation....seems a bit premature to me...

Many of these radiators lasted for far less than 3 years .... that’s why I suggested looking at a completely different radiator. Never done it, but I would be exploring if a custom radiator built with better components, and not “pressed aluminum” joints (which is what many people/techs have said is the problem) made and installed for less money.

I hope it doesn’t come up with my new coach but when it does, if I can have a better radiator made and installed for far less money that yet another potentially “weak” radiator from the manufacturer, (As reported by others), I certainly will look into it.

What are the mechanics of getting a new radiator made? I assume you would have to remove the old one to give to the fabricating shop to use as a template. In the meanwhile your coach will be sitting somewhere disabled. Where and for how long? While it sounds like a superior replacement, it also sounds like a huge hassle.

I have no idea Mark. Never had it done but if it avoided a new radiator at my expense, it would certainly be worth a little downtime if it wa more reliable than the OEM radiator.

The fellow that did it posted in a fairly recent radiator thread. Think it was after the “radiator fairy thread .... “ but might have been that thread.

My memory was that it was a good deal less expensive than a Spartan replacement if you are paying for it, but I was not paying careful attention to the thread as I hoped the problem was a thing of the past .,,,,, but now not so sure
. .....

I sure hope not. I would feel terrible if that happened.

I made it to 40,000 before needing a second one. However it took 15,000 miles for them to admit the radiator was causing the coolant leak.
