Well, guess what - I just checked the induction cooktop manual, (written by someone NOT fluent in English, BTW) and there IS a lock function. When you are done cooking, simply "unplug the induction cooktop from the mains". Whoa! Why didn't we think of that? Oh, wait - there is no accessible plug on a built-in unit.

Didn't Entegra change brands of induction cook tops between the Classics and the new models? Something about suppliers or manufacture?

We do it by switching off the circuit breaker over the driver's window.

FYI, the 2017's have the Furion cooktop. FWIW, we had ours replaced and it still does not work worth a damn. Yes, we have very high end induction cookware. Heat is central to just the central 4 inches of the cookware.

Thanks to everyone who responded. My unit is a True Induction double burner in a 2016 Aspire. My booklet clearly lists stainless steel as suitable cookware, which is what I have, but it was not induction rated. This is my first experience with induction so after a fairly expensive trip to Bed Bath and Beyond I now have a working stove. Sorry it took so long to reply but I didn't get out to purchase new items until today. Thanks again for all the helpful responses.

Sure there is.. It looks exactly like a circuit breaker.
