Intermittent Noise
2013 Entegra Aspire..... Dash AC has not worked and eventually will look into it. This appears to be a problem that a lot of us face.
However, recently, there has being an intermittent noice (although every 4 or 5 seconds) coming from the front left of the generator. Appears to sound like a pressure pump of some sort. Comes from the device shown in the pictures below. The noice is present when the dash air/ac is off. If I turn the vent on, the noice stops. Any clue what this is?
Thanks

I believe that’s the vacuum pump for HVAC. May need replaced.

I feel your pain..... I've got a 19 Cornerstone and the dash AC has been repaired once, and the compressor has been replaced separately,, and I'm pretty sure that there is a leak in the system now and it doesn't cool because there is no Freon in the system.............. a LOT of people have problems with dash AC

Thanks!!! Yes. Fixing the AC will be quite a quest.
Maybe a call to Spartan to look for the replacement part? Any other leads?
Thanks

IIRC, we had Spartan replace our AC line for around $3-400.00 last year.
It was full of pin holes. Wear and tear and probably some welding sparks during EC assembly kept ours from really cooling the front. Appears to be working well enough now. Real test coming this summer.

.... and then you probably need to have a vacuum pump to pull all the air and remnants of the old Freon out of the system, and then a good way to recharge the whole system with just the right amount of Freon.
If you find a way that this can be done yourself and with a reasonable investment in a vacuum pump, please pass that information along to me, or write it up here for iRV2.......... thousands of us owners will be forever indebted !!!!!

Maybe I’m missing something in this discussion but it would appear to me the OP needs to check out the vacuum pump he has circled in his post. This pump provides vacuum for the dash HVAC controls. This is a demand pump when vacuum is needed for control and is 12 volt powered.
OP pull the hose from the pump and check for vacuum, you should hear the pump motor start when you pull the hose, I would imagine ignition would need to be on. If you don’t have vacuum the pump probably needs replaced. I would think you would need working controls before checking out rest of system. JMHO

Thanks Richard.
The pump is intermittently turning on and off as soon as I start de accessory switch or turn the motor over with the AC/Vent controls in the off position!. It appears the pump will stop working once I turn the vent function on. So If the ac system is off and I turn de motor on, the pump will start working without the need of disconnecting the hose. Unless of course you are saying that observe if disconnecting the hose will keep the pump on “all the time” as opposed to intermittently.
Thanks again!

I’m no expert but doesn’t the description fit a vacuum leak somewhere in the system? Sounds like the vacuum pump itself is trying to provide vacuum but can’t maintain it. Here’s a link to a troubleshooting guide
