Issue with See Level Black Tank Monitor
2015 Cornerstone.
We are having issues with our black tank monitor not being inconsistent and incorrect. Grey tank is fine.
I have tried coach reset, etc. with no luck.
Thinking that maybe the sensor strip has partially separated from the tank.
Several questions:
1. How / where do I access the black tank sensor?
2. Any other suggestions on a solution?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

On my 14, I had an inconsistent tank readings. Two things that solved my problems. One was one of the tank monitors was wonky, the one in the wet bay. At that time there was a test for troubleshooting on Sea Level's web site.
Second one that ended my problem on the last 3 coach is this method. If the tanks are not clean the sensor will not work.

I have a tank monitor display in the Coach and another in the wet bay. Both of the displays show the same incorrect reading.
I regularly back flush the black tank and have tried several black tank cleaning products.
Nothing seems to make a difference.

I have the same problem with my Grey tank sensor. It started freaking out a few months ago....very erratic readings/ops, would register 0-7% when empty and then jump to 50-55% at first use then finally would count normal after 60%. I checked the mounting and the sensor is still flat and adhered to the side of the tank. Check the wire connections and all is good. Went through the monitor self check and power was down to about 25, but according to the manual
that should still be ok for proper operations. Since I just had the tanks professionally cleaned, I don't think there is anything that is built up on the sides of the grey tank thus creating erroneous measurements when empty. I ordered another sensor strip, but have yet to put on waiting for the right weather/time.

Had the same problem with my gray tank. Having it pressure washed did the trick.
Later...

Both of my monitors showed incorrect reading, but it was the wet bay monitor causing the problem. It has the relay and board that sends the signal to the bathroom monitor. In the "old days" Sea Level had that on their web site how to troubleshoot it with and ohm meter.

The SeeLevel sensors can be wonky if you have crud build up inside the tank. This is most likely to be the problem. If possible, fill the tank and let it sit for a week or so.
Take a look at the SeeLevel manual, it explains how to run diagnostics on the sensor. It will report back with a signal level which should not be below a value of 20 I believe.
The sensors are thin adhesive backed flexible "circuit board" strips about two inches wide with wires that exit at the top. On my coach the strips are on the left side of the tanks as you face them from the driver side wet bay. The black tank sensor is almost impossible to get eyes on but you can feel around for it. You might be able to get a phone camera in there to get a look. The grey tank sensor is between the tanks so is a bit easier to see.
Keep in mind all three sensors are wired in parallel, so a problem with one (or a wiring issue between them) is possible to affect another.
Check wiring, the SeeLevel system is sensitive to grounding problems and voltage fluctuations.
My sensors go wonky every so often, but usually a few flushings or driving on rough roads will clear things up. I always store my tanks full.

Had the fresh water sender totally weird.. Finally peeled the sender film off the tank and then scrubbed the bejesus out of the mounting spot on the tank, finishing with alcohol, then re applied the sender film..

Rob, if driving on rough roads clears up your sensor problem you should never have a problem!!!

If the sensor is firmly attached, then your problem of wonky readings is most likely a problem with residue residing on the tank walls near the sensor strips.
I left my black and gray tanks largely full for a month or more just because I wanted to keep everything wet, and then I emptied and kept the sprayer hose hooked up to the black tank fitting for maybe a half hour, and voila !!!! all of a sudden my sensors showed more empty tank and more accurate readings.... My hypothesis was that a month of nearly full tank in my driveway followed by lots of high pressure spraying with the built-in tank "cleaner" sprayer removed some residue on the tank walls, which has led to more accurate readings.
Now, on my Anthem, I got very bad readings and removed the panels covering the area where the sensors were mounted and discovered that one of the sensors was virtually detached. I reattached the sensor using adhesive recommended by Entegra and never had a further problem with tank sensing while I owned that coach.
