Jacks Anthem Storage
We are original owners 2018 Anthem 44b. We were full time until the past few months and we have gone part time. We have stored our coach a few months at a time plugged into 50 amp shore power with the jacks on stored position.
When we go to retrieve our coach from storage
We crank Coach and jacks control panel comes on, jacks cycle and sound as if they were retracted even though they were in stored position. We visual check and jacks are stored.
Is this normal ? We were used to always being full time and Jack were down when on rv site with slides out so we were unsure if this is normal when coach left extended time with jacks stored and slides in.
Thanks !
Daphne and Steve

Well, what you describe is "normal" and the same that happens on my 2019 Cornerstone. I fairly often do not deploy jacks for leveling as my coach does a pretty good job of air leveling all by itself. However, if in the morning, I have forgotten that the jacks were not deployed and fire up the Cummins, or accidentally turn on the leveling panel, then my jacks try to raise to max even if they are already fully nested.... The hydraulic pump pumps for about 30 seconds, the jacks dont move, and then it turns itself off. Standard operating situation on my coach.

Equalizer explained to me years ago to store with the jack down. It take the weight off of the suspension. He also explained, heavy equipment is stored for months at a time with the rams extended with no damage. He also explained to spray with WD 40 (his words) for the lubrication police, and wipe down before raising at the end of a long storage period helps lubricate the seals.

One more question…is it okay to store extended time (3 months ) with jacks stored?
And should we let jacks cycle on their own when we crank and turn themselves off or turn off ourselves earlier?

I have been storing for 20 years with the jacks down with never a problem . I like taking the air pressure off of the air bags

I would store the coach with the jack extended to take the weight off the tires. You don't want to flat spot them. Also, it is normal to have to hit the retract button, even though the jacks are retracted.

And I have been doing the opposite for 20 years without a problem. I store with jacks up. (My storage spot is completely level.) Any occasional flat-spotting of tires disappears within a few miles of travel.
Maybe it really makes no difference?

It sounds like it. The ownership time of your current coach being stored that way says a lot. My Cornerstone sits funny after the air bleeds if not on the jacks, the Travel Supreme and Anthem didn't do that.
