I made a comment on the forum the other day about having run out of things to fix on my 2012 RBQ Aspire. MISTAKE! The very next day while cleaning the coach on my driveway I extended the large awning and that is where my Carefree awning decided to stay...fully extended! No fiddling with the switches nor “rebooting” the 12v power would coax the awning in. It would not retract...great!
Luckily with the help of Mr Google I found the instructions on how to retract the awning using a cordless drill battery so was able to get the awning retracted and stowed without much fanfare. 30 minutes later with a multimeter I pronounced the awning controller deceased. Better that it happened on the driveway than at a campground somewhere I guess.
Anyhew.....nothing that $350.00 couldn’t fix! I searched the internet but only found it available directly from Carefree so placed the order and the control board arrived today. So...once again everything works as it should. Doesn’t look like much for $350! I guess I should keep my mouth shut about having everything 100% in the future. 😳
