I was just wondering how most people in hot weather keep there Coach cool without the A/C running all the time. We are in Texas and it is hitting over 100 degrees now. If we stay some where for a couple of weeks it seems the a/c runs all the time. Any suggestions other than moving north.

I already got that one from the DW.

We spent a weekend at Texoma last year with temps near 110. The coolest all 3 ACs would keep the salon was about 84. I'm hoping the Magna Shade makes a difference this year!

Unless you block the common supply, somewhere around the bathroom, a lot of your front air will go to the rear when the rear air shuts down. The rear is easy to cool and once your rear air shuts down the front air will supply enough cool air that the rear won't come back on. I blocked ours and the rear air has to take care of the rear while the other two cools the front. Did the same thing on our previous Tiffin with good results. I have never understood why the engineers install three air conditioners and then create a situation where only two run unless you make the bedroom cold enough to hang meat. Noel

I guess I'm wondering...do you operate something other than AC to keep your S&B cool. Kind of hard to place and carry around one of those old swamp coolers...but sometimes I think that would be a good additional way to deal with the heat

Sounds reasonable. Can you "splain" how/where you blocked the ducts? Maybe a pic?

Last summer the bedroom was only a degree or 2 cooler than the salon.

We could have hung meat in the "stool room"!

Only way to keep it cool when the temps in Texas are triple digits... Ankorage (That is in Alaska folks).

It is all about the cubic volume of air, so you may want to pull in a slide or two during the hottest part of the day. With Entegra's superior insulation and construction, you sure don't want a WBGO in the TX heat, especially with a basement AC unit alone.....

We are like your DW, we go north. The Weather Channel is our favorite travel guide.

Outside of an exterior front windshield sunscreen, there is not much you can do with a fiberglass box with no dead air space like the attic in a S&B in 100 degree weather. The Entegra has the best insulation on the market, but even it can only go so far. Keep all drapes closed, insulate the skylight and plan your trip north.

That wasn't what I had in mind...must be the 2014 version of what we used in Oklahoma and Baja Oklahoma when i was a kid. But evaporative cooling is a nice technology. All you need to do is go up to a waterfall in Yosemite on a 90 degree day and suddenly the temp drops to 75.

Haven't had the coach out this year yet but we ran through OK last year and spent a few nights at casinos along the way. Daytime temps were in the 108-112 range and we stayed pretty cool. We did adjust a few vents - and that included just about closing the one in the half bath. The very front of the coach was the warmest but we had the night shades down on the windshield and left them down all day. We were parked facing east, that helped a lot, and kept the sunscreens down on all the other windows. We didn't have outside screens for the front last year but purchased them over the winter. Will be interesting to see what type of difference when we use them. But I will qualify all of this by saying that we are hot weather people and rarely cool S&B or coach below 76.
