Key entry and 12v switch

So, we went out for the afternoon but left the dog behind with coach locked.
Our neighbors called and asked to let Riley out for our regular happy hour. Told them how to get into coach.
Dumb me, I forgot I do not have an extra set on my key chain(it has all the other coach keys).
Turns out the Stant gas cap keys fit the locks on the entry door.
They didn’t get in but when we came back the 12v(salesman switch) was off/out.
Is there a connection between failed keyed attempts and the 12v?
Hope not, when we lost 12v, we lost connection with the MicroAir.
I am going to try it myself and see what happens but was curious about any unknown(to me) security feature.

Tom, I have never purposely tried several wrong attempts on our door keypad but I have never heard of a “security feature” that would cause 12V to set to off.

Sorry to hear about the battery disconnect issue. I've never seen the alarm shut off the 12 volt. One might assume the dog hit the switch due to being low on the entry panel. Keep your keys with you and try the wrong codes and get back and let us know if that caused the disconnect.

I’m suspecting the dog as well. With our friends trying “to break in” I think she went part way down the steps in anticipating the door opening.
I will try the wrong keys again and see if anything happens.

We had our cat step on the other 12v disconnect switch that is under the drivers window in our 17 and shut down 12V. Our new coach has a different switch design for the 12V under the drivers window. (Pet proof if their is such a thing)

My suspicion now is not the dog, but when they broke in, they hit the power on the side as you described. Easy to do and not know it. Glad it is not some weird anti theft.
