Yes - when it starts to bind.

The top 1/2 inch of the faucet which mounts to the sink, unscrews. Then there is an a locking ring "used a pair of needle nose pliers in the notches to remove it". I do not remember how the handle come off from the ball's post but should be very plain when you start to get it apart.

Then clean it up and I use Danco Waterproof Faucet Grease which can be picked up just about anywhere.

The first time I took it apart - used a pair of channellock and a small towel or wash cloth so it would not mar the surface.

No reason for plumbing fixtures to use backwards threads. Do you know if the previous owner used a water softener on your coach? That is the typical problems for a coach that has not used a water softener.

If the faucet ring is tight with corrosion, soaking it for a few hours or overnight with PB Blaster will help. Blaster also works well for cleaning parts before lubing and putting back together.

Here is the cartage that you need:
https://www.huntingtonbrass.com/st9000.html

We had the same problem with out kitchen faucet and this was a easy replacement.

Remove the locking ring that holds the handle to the base.
The handle lifts straight off the stem of the cartage.
carefully remove the brass ring with the 2 flats
The cartage will lift out
Reverse the steps making sure the correctly clock the new cartage
Enjoy your like new faucet

Back in the "old days" when the Classics were new, the Huntington Brass faucets were bad when they were new, the the leaked. Many found matching cartridges at Home Depot, Gernic name that fit and worked perfect. Might try a search going back to find the part number, or take yours to HD and match it up.

I was luck, I was still under warranty when mine started leaking, the entire faucet was replaced.

Hey how y'all. I got that top off carefully Dang it was tight. Question ❓ there is a brass ring apparently needs to come off there is 2 notches on sides however itl as low as the housing so getting at that brass ring is now the ? Is there a wrench like spanner for this or should I tap on it with a flat head to carefully try this. I have done a lot of stuff. But not much plumbing on the cartridge types anyway.

OP.
Guess I'm old school. I replaced my faucet on the 2nd day of ownership with a Delta from Home Depot. I use Vasoline to lube the ball every year when I put new "O" rings in it.
I use the KISS method.

Tried to get the correct tool to remove it, could not find on locally. So - Then used a pair of needle nose pliers in the notches to remove it.
