All of you have convinced me to to proceed with Koni Shocks. The only question remaining for me is front only or all around?

Peter,

I had them installed on my 15 Anthem while attending the Spartan Academy in Charlotte, MI. They recommended the front only. I was so impressed with them, I had them installed on our 16 at delivery, again front only.

This is the model number I had installed on the 16. These are the non-adjustable type and I like them even better

Koni EVO 99B-3234

Hope that helps, Brian

Just do the fronts unless money is no issue.

I did the front’s and enjoyed the improvement. I’m not sure the rears would be noticeable.

Peter, this was the best price I found for the new shocks when I shopped, but like the stock market, it can change. https://www.ultrarvproducts.com/Koni...eyco-IFS-Front

I installed the EVO 99's on my 20,000# dual steering box Magna in 2016. Made a big difference. Got mine from Henderson's on Grants Pass OR. Not the best price but the service from them has been excellent.

koni Shocks on Spartan K-3

I replaced front Bilstein '15 Cornerstone with Koni EVO 99B3234's. Drive axle with Koni 8805-1009's, and Tag axle with Koni 8805-1013.

I talked with Spartan, but could never get a straight answer on anything about shocks on the K-3. I talked to the manufacturer of the front axle unit Reyco Granning, to find the front shocks were built by Bilstein to their specs, and there was some change around 2016 or 2017, but not a usable part number. I could not find out from Koni what the 99B EVO 3234 was actually rated for and it concerned me that it was commonly being used on the Anthem which has a lighter service weight than the Cornerstone. I sent the front shocks back the first round, but the distributor assured me the 99B EVO 3234 was the correct shock for the K-3.

If that is the case, it would not be a big surprise to find that an Anthem with 99B EVO 3234's on the front would have significantly better ride and handling characteristics than the original Bilstein what ever they were. My service center is installing the KONI EVO's on a lot of Prevost conversions.

There was significant improvement in ride and handling after installing the Koni 99B EVO 3234's. Jury is still out on the rear. Heading to Florida in about two weeks. Expect to notice improvements soon!

Dave,
Thanks, I asked the question because I can only find it rated at 16-18K. Could not find one rated for the 20k Cornerstone. This is also rated less.

This is like having surgery and you don’t know what the Dr put in your body! A very frustrating experience!

Smile Koni Shocks

Greetings,
Last year I put Koni's on all three axles. In addition also installed "Super Steer" control units on all the air lines for the 6 airbags as well as Safe-t-plus on the steering.
With all three I have notice remarkable difference in the ride and stability of the coach when traveling.
The super steer units helped immensely with the "roll" of the coach. (much to the pleasure of the DW who often said the bus rode like our sailboat did. Although she never got seasick)
I am feeling much more confident taking it over the ALCAN highway this summer (Frost Heaves)
All of the above was installed by my local mechanic but purchased through
Super Steer, 458 Redwood Highway, Grants Pass Oregon 541-955-0769
Webb address supersteerparts.com
You can see all of this stuff on their website.

Safe travels...The Orca

Just out of curiosity, how much did you guys pay for installation/labor for the fronts only?

I installed the shocks myself, but gave the guy that helped me $50. He had the bigger impact wrench I needed and he got his hands dirty with me.

My first set I got hosed at freightliner for about 300.00.. that did include them adjusting them twice after test drive as the early model had 3 settings and you had to remove them to adjust..
2 nd set of 99 b non adjustable I paid 1 hour labor at 105.00 at a different shop.. btw. You can put these on the steer axles with out removing the wheels and tires...

I’m jealous! Don’t have the time, tools or skill set for that!
