Koni Shocks back in stock

Just had an email from a previous forum member that Ultra has Koni shocks for the Entegra back in stock for those that have been waiting. Nice of JJ to pass on the information.

Thanks for the info Chuck. I'll be in Michigan at Spartan next month. They will evaluate my current shocks and I believe replace them with 60 mm Bilstein's. If not I'll get the Koni's. I've seen good reviews on both.

Take the "free" 60mm Bilstein upgrade.

I upgraded to the Koni’s on our previous Anthem. It had a negligible improvement. The factory shocks on our current Anthem are a huge improvement from either the factory Bilsteins or replacement Koni’s on our 16 Anthem.

Tim, the new 20,000 pound front axle on the Anthem makes a big difference, probably more than the shocks. The previous 17,000 lb axles were maxed out where shocks helped, but did not cure the ride of a maxed out axle.

I am having NIRVC Lewisville install them on my 2020 Aspire 42DEQ in the next couple days. Looking forward taking it for a spin afterwards. I will give an update as soon as I can.

Just returned from our first shake down trip in our new 21. About 500 miles on mostly interstate. Ride is great, but expansion joints and bridge joints give a pretty good ”thunk”. Some additional mileage is in order to better form an opinion.

I’m in a 2018 Aspire, getting wheel alignment and such done next week, I only have about 15,000 miles on it but I am interested in improving the ease of which it drives. It’s not horrible, it’s not even bad but you do it, so to speak.... I’m going to try a new shocks work everybody’s best recommendation?

You do have to “drive it” ☝️That was how that was supposed to read

Tim

what are all your tire pressures and how are you loaded? A lot of dealers way over pressure the front tires.

At delivery they were 115, 80 and 80. I left fronts at 115 and raised drive and tag to 85 for our first little trip. Drove about 250 miles like that, then I lowered fronts to 110 and left drive and tag tires at 85 for return home, another 250 miles. I may lower fronts to 105 based on B-man49, a fulltimer with 2020 Anthem. I was loaded fairly light, as we are not really set up to travel yet. I hope to get weighed when I load up for normal travels.

Tim:

You have access to a current set of Michelin load/pressure tables for your series of tires?? If you dont, I will send them to you.

Now, Im running different tires... 365 front, and 315 all the way around, but just measured my tire pressures two days ago because my TPMS system is not working at all, and my pressures were 110, 90, and 90. Those are well within the safe range for my "4-Corner" measured weights.

Now, my DW says that our Cornerstone is a lot harder to walk around in while going down interstates than our 15 Anthem ever was. Now we have air ride and the Anthem didnt so I have "blown off" her observation to that difference. Since she does not drive, I have not had the opportunity to stroll around the coach at highway speeds, so I dont really know. Feels pretty good to me in the driver seat. And my Cornerstone still does some pretty solid transitions on bridge transitions and terribly constructed ramps and merges, so it sure is NOT like a cloud all the time....

I do have a Michelin tire chart and I have the same size tires as you, but on a K2 chassis. As I have not had a chance to get weighed yet, I only have B-Man49’s recommendation of 105,85,85 for tire pressure. I’ll keep monitoring how I handle bridge joints. I’ve got an able co-pilot, but do 99% of the driving and have not had a chance to verify Dee’s strolling observation. You might set your cruise and join her, but better make it brief.
