I agree, it is not a job worth saving a $100. unless it is harder to get your coach to a shop than DIY. If I was at Spartan, I would have them do it too.

Shock Comparison Picture

Here is a picture of the shock differences.
My buddy and I went out and changed them.
Bought a 1/2" Kobalt Cordless impact driver (The bigger one 650 ft #'s of torque) worked like a dream. Had both changed out in 20 minutes.
Cost me $200 for the Driver but I'm sure I'll get more use out of it in the garage.
The test drive down the freeway with known bumps was a noticeable difference. Bumps were smoother with no rebound.
The other thing I noticed was less rocking and it drove straighter with less steering corrections, probably because of the increased side to side stability.
Anyway, very pleased with the upgrade.
Going from Gig Harbor to Sand Point ID next weekend.
Going over I-90 will be the real test. Thats a really bad freeway.

Thnaks for the photo Kevin. Side by side those look like the same puny Bilsteins that caused all the problems with my Classic. If the new Aspires are pushing 17,000 lbs on the front Axel, but still using the smaller 46mm shocks, from my experience, under shocked and will cause the porpoising problems that are being reported.
Others didn't believe me when I said the wheel play was gone...glad you experience the same results.

Update

WOW!
What a difference compared to the stock shocks.
We just drove from Gig Harbor to the Stoneridge RV Resort in ID (staying until Sunday if you're here) the drive was a lot nicer
especially if you have an Aspire and want it to feel like a Cornerstone then this should be the first upgrade you do period.
It even climbs the Mountain pass like it has 605HP...... Just kidding.

Seriously big difference in smoothness, handling and NO MORE BOUNCING!

Great Investment.

Chuck,

It doesn’t seem like it from the numbers, but the 60mm are 70% larger than the 46mm, so they’re much beefier with significantly more dampening power. (The surface area of the piston goes up as the square of the radius.) That’s why I have no problems with my 17 Anthem, the year Entegra switched to 60s on the Anthem. The Aspires should also be on 60s, so the larger Konis make a big difference.

When I asked Spartan for a price for Konis for my 2015 Aspire, they told me they didn’t sell them for a solid axle coach. Since I will be in Charlotte in 2 weeks, is there another larger dia shock sold by Spartan that would work better than the old Bilsteins I currently have? I can always gets Konis at some later time, but since I am at Spartan anyway...

Read though this post towards the end or search for other posts and you will find the part number for the 15 Aspires. Or you can call the posted link for RVsupply for the correct number http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/koni...ng-297539.html

I would order the Koni's, take em' with you, and have Spartan install them. Makes no sense why they don't sell them. They are available.

Will that Kobalt get a tire lug loose? I watched the tire dealer use the very large air wrench to remove my front lugs, and used the same to get the shock bolts loose. Seems like it was more difficult to get the shock bolts loose?
