Koni shocks for 21 Anthem

Our 21 Anthem has a problem with going over overpasses, bridges and dips in the road, it bounces excessively. I told Spartan about this last spring, and they changed out the front shocks to Koni's. They said they were not the best Koni's but Chris said that they were the only ones that Spartan would cover the cost of. I do not see any difference from the Billsteins that came with our coach, maybe even not as good. We have an appointment with Spartan in a month and I would like to know what shock's some of you have changed to, to solve this problem and if they have made any significant improvement. I am ready to get this problem fixed even though know I will have to cover the cost. Thank you for all of your comments.

I had this problem with my 17 Cornerstone. It was bad.
I switched to Koni shocks and it helped.
I think they only had one option for the K3 chassis.
Maybe you have more than one choice for your coach.

The other thing we learned to do was slow down some on the roads that caused the porpoising. Before we changed to the Koni’s I had had a couple times where we felt like we were going to lose control because the seat belts were holding us down.

Good Luck.

Call this company. They know more about Koni shocks than Spartan. Best prices that I found on the internet as well, but their knowledge is outstanding. Check your build sheet or call Spartan for your front axle model number to know you have the right Koni shock. https://www.ultrarvproducts.com/stor...&product_id=85

You can also contact Tim Cave at NIRVC in Dallas. 469-277-1330 He can also assist you with any questions or parts for your entegra. We also upgrade to the Koni shocks to help with the issue you are having. Have you checked the ride height specs on your coach? Have you reached out to your selling dealer to see what they offer?

From experience, it is true. Spartan blames Entegra for spec'ing the shocks. That is finally being changed this year. I can't believe it took this many years for the engineeres to agree. Whoever's fault it is, the chassis are under shocked.

We had NIRVC Atlanta change our 21 CS fronts to Koni's. The ride is night and day better, but not perfect. We run a section of US 58 in lower VA on our way to/ from home that has multiple bridges in short sequence. the coach (and our cars) porpoise like crazy. The OEM shocks made me slow to half speed limit to prevent internal self-destruction of the coach. The Koni's are much better, we still porpoise a bit but it is manageable, and we are at better speeds. Logging trucks traveling with us on this route get a bit aggressive if we slow down too much.

regards,
j

Do you know if the shocks they are putting on the new coaches are the same Qaulity of what we can purchase from ultra Rv products?

That I do not know. All I know is what has been published by Entegra.

Meritor® front axle with independent front suspension, integrated anti-sway bar and custom-tuned Koni® shocks- 20,000 lb. rating

If that is the case, I would hope to think that Spartan should know what shocks would be right for our coach.
