Latest vega touch panel-- problem

Just installed the latest vega touch panel ( received a few days ago)

2017 anthem 44b

Aquahot has been working fine for last week and coach has not been moved or unplugged .

Now aquahot does not work at all.

Checked power to aquahot -- all good. Simply no lights on aquahot panel or electric or diesel heat. Vega panel says electric working but no green light for diesel .

Tried all kinds of resets. No change.

Put old panel back in --still no aquahot. Maybe when I downloaded the latest config files on the new panel -- something reset ? Do not know what config version was used for old panel.

Anyway-- my family is coming in today for a week ( we are at riverbend in Florida) and they will not be happy with no hot water. Not the end of the world, just very annoying. This is my 4th or 5th panel . Guys at firefly very good and responsive .

I emailed firefly, Entegra, and aquahot but do not expect response on Christmas Day!!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Tom volk

Merry Christmas to all. Hope you are having a great holiday season.

Any chance you're low enough on fuel to keep. The AH from picking up? In this case the electric element would still work. Have you tried it?

Seems obvious, just taking the easy shot here.

Update so far

Full tank of fuel -- about the third thing I checked! Thanks

Unbelievable, but Nate just called me from firefly! Amazing people at firefly.

Per his suggestion and knowledge-- I am going to do a hard wire power directly to pin in bathroom panel.

He got my email and after opening presents with his kids -- called me.

I'll post results here after I do the wiring .

I would be interested to know if this was caused by the latest update. We haven't received/installed it yet.

Firefly

Appears to be a board failure in one of the nternal board functions.

Nothing to do with panel update apparently.

Nate told me how to bypass the board and put power directly to the aquahot control .

All this was done in panel in half bath on my 44b. Fortunately, I had some wire and easy to use connectors / taps. So once Nate identified the right wire to jump--( always the hard part) I was able to do it.

I now have hot water and Nate will decide what the best permanent fix is.

So, for now, I'm set-- I think!

Amazing service by firefly. On Christmas !!

Glad you got it fixed and happy to hear it was not additional Vega Touch issues.

Hot Swap?

I don't think we have received any instruction on this from Firefly but I'm curious to know if everyone has been doing hot swaps on these panels or is everyone shutting down the 12v before removing and replacing the panels? I think its a question worth asking at least. I would think that shutting everything down would be the safer way to do it. I'll get back with what I hear from Firefly.

Here is Nate from Firefly's response:

On hot-swapping the screen: the first thing you should do when changing out a screen is to unplug the 12V connector from the back before disconnecting the CAN and Ethernet cables. Then, power should be the last thing plugged back in after the CAN and Ethernet are reconnected. To the screen, there is no difference between hitting the battery disconnect and unplugging the power cable. However, if it gives you peace of mind to disconnect coach power first, it is well worth it!

Just turn off the 12v power. Replace the screen. Turn on 12v power.
