Lighting control module

Has anyone had an issue with their lighting control module??? I found my lower 2 rear brake lights not working and the repair shop traced it to a bad control module. Is this common? I was told all lighting is routed through this magic box that is rather expensive. My extended warranty covered the repair but just curious if this is common.

Did any other lights go on when you hit the brake? The reason I am asking is because on my Classic all the rear lights were on individual circuits. I made a harness using one circuit on each side. All of my rear lights go on when I hit the brakes and all of them flash when I put a turn signal on. It was a modification that I picked up here on the forum.

To clear this up, when looking at the rear of the coach we have 3 lights on each side and the additional center light. All the regular rear lights illuminate when the lights are turned on but when you apply the brake, all the brake lights flash briefly then the only brake lights that stay on are the top one on each side. The center light also flashes briefly then goes out. I thought this may have been water in the harness causing a short but could find no issues. When I took it to the shop, they stated they traced the issue to the control module that manages all the lights (I assume exterior) on the coach. I was told this morning that they replaced the box from Spartan and all works now as designed. $1900.00 with labor...
