The only difference between remote revision 2.8 and 2.9 that I can see is 2.9 has a lithium charge profile but from what I saw of the parameters I would not use it anyway. My new remotes are 2.9 but the inverter software is too old to even show revision 2.9, it shows up as 2.8.

My original MS2812 (manufactured in 2011) inverter bit the farm last year so the replacement is of 2018 vintage...it is software rev 5.9 and I think I read that >5.4 is what Magnum recommends.

Be aware of the current handling capabilities of the battery BMS. I went with three 200ah units instead of two 300ah. As this gave the battery bank a 450a instead of 300a discharge rate. Can matter for generator start.
