We live in our rig during the winter so a washer & dryer are important. After numerous repair attempts we replaced our Whirlpool with a Slendide listed below. Fit right where the Whirlpool washer was. We still use the Whirlpool dryer.

Good luck.....

Has anyone replaced washer/ dryer in a 42DEQ? Even though the Whirlpools in our Anthem seem to work OK, we would like to know how difficult it is to change them out for Splendide?

We replaced the washer in our previous 2016 Anthem 44A with an Electrolux. DW loved it?

I am more interested in knowing how difficult it was getting the old out and new in, on our floor plan. It doesnít appear to be a walk in the park.

You just have to learn how to slam the door with the right velocity. It's all in the wrist. Ours has not been a problem since I learned. The DW still has a problem on occasion.

Bill,
On our 2016 Anthem 44A the dryer was on a shelf above the washer. It was fairly easy to slide the washer out after removing the doors. I put some wood on the floor so it would slide out above the plastic tray it sits in. The washer is very heavy. It took two of us to manhandle it out of the coach, but it did fit through the entry door. Installing the new one was just reversing the process. On the Electrolux, there was a plastic piece about 5 inches wide across the back (unsure of its purpose). I had to trim it to fit around the vent. It helps to have long arms to make the connections behind the washer. On the floor plans with the dryer stacked directly on the washer, some have built a table to slide the dryer on to. I think others just took it out and set it aside. The dryers are light compared to the washers. Good luck

Ok, thanks. On our floor plan it almost looks like some wood trim may need to be removed. Further research on my part needed before I attempt any change.

I think our washer is going through menopause.

Things seem to go smooth for a while and then wham o, we start all over again. Usually we have to open and close the door several times and then it decides if it's going to work. We had a spendid brand in our 5th wheel and it worked great.

Iím happy to report we just celebrated our 5th anniversary in our Anthem. On the road six months of the year and our washer, dryer and dishwasher work great. We did replace the crappy Samsung refrigerator last year.

Purchased Splendide

Will keep everyone posted on the install. Also purchased a new transfer switch and a new post surge protector. Next up, new toilet button for master, new windshield wipers, new clear bra from the front of the rig etc. It's never ending, however it makes me feel better that we're keeping the Big Samoan in great condition.

So.....after sharing my 95% of the time Whirlpool washer story the darn thing just went to 0% of the time this past weekend. I surrender....Splendide WFL1300XD replacement should be here on Tuesday.

Have had a Splendide stacked washer dryer for about 1.5 years
Not the capacity or speed of a home unit but gets the job done
DW pretty much continuously runs them
Had them put in by CW .....
The washer wouldn't run displayed water fault ... they didn't leave water turned on ... had to pull dryer out to turn on water
On first trip out they both fell over into the aisle, CW didn't secure them whatsoever
after about a month the dryer failed ... I trouble shot ... the high temp cutout tripped (don't reset has to be replaced) I bought a spare hi temp CO
I believe the dryer failed because DW was getting used to them & overloaded it
Washer no problems so far
My daughters home front load washer failed & service man said they dont repair them, they last about 5 years
I expect the splendide washer is the same. when it goes I won't bother to attempt to repair it but buy a new unit.
I don't want to spend my time replacing it one part at a time ....

We replaced our 2016Corberstone W/D with Splendide. Expect we will do that again with the 21 at the first hint of a problem. The Splendids work great. BTW, our 21 was delivered with an inoperative washer. NIRVC Lawrenceville replaced it the next day...bad control board according to the appliance repair tech.
