Looked At A Cornerstone

Just got backed looking at a Cornerstone. Unbelievable cheap plastic shower doors in this otherwise beautiful coach. What were they thinking? The MSRP is over 600K and they install cheap plastic doors. Sorry, I have glass, curved shower doors in my '08 Dynasty. Do they have any idea what happens to PLASTIC after a couple of years? Apparently not. Try cleaning soap scum off of plastic and see what happens after a few cleaning. Oh well, just me looking . . .

Was your trip today to look at buying one? was the shower door the only drawback you found? I would think if the shower door is the only thing wrong.....easily corrected with glass.....before buying. Just wondering....

Actually looking at the Anthem to buy should we consider upgrading. But, what were they thinking? Plastic shower doors in a $600K coach. Doesn't compute... imo

The 2015 solves the problem with a residential style shower, similar to King Aire.

I've looked at a lot of coaches in the last 1.5 years, including Monacos (the 2015 Dynasty was the same as in my Anthem only frosted as I recall). They are all using the same curved doors, with the only difference being frosted versus clear. I am curious where they came up with curved glass in 2008, but that would be very expensive. I think the move to bath and a half creates the space to have the square or rectangular glass showers (again, if they were doing it before).

I wonder how many shower doors can be replaced for a $150,000 price difference between another comparable manufacture? As a purchaser those are things I look at, but that is just me.

If I looked at a beautiful coach with the build quality of a cornerstone but had a concern about a shower door ($500 item) I would have my check book out. I personally dont put too much concern in a shower door as long as it functions. I find many other things of importance to draw my buying dollar. Just my opinion.

You must have missed the thread on the changes for 2015 that occurred right after the Tampa show. There was a new Cornerstone there with the new changes. A big one was the addition of the residential style shower. My wife visited Newmar and Tiffin and looked at their coaches and the new shower in the Cornerstone appears to be somewhat larger than either. In addition, Entegra was the only one that has a tiled floor instead of a formed pan.

You obviously were looking at a 2014 or earlier version. If you go back and look at the thread referring to "2015 Cornerstone Changes" you will see a LOT of improvements. There were enough for me to cancel my order for a 2014 and go with a 2015 a bit later.

The original owner did an upgraded with the shower. If I recall the build sheet it was $3500 for the upgrade. It cleans up real easy.

It is a 2014. The sales person told me it was glass. Maybe there is a new definition for galss? Mine is heavy. You know it's glass. The rollers and hardware are heavy/solid construction. The shower pan cleans up easy and doesn't leave oil stains from you feet like many of the cheap shower units they install in most motor homes do.

That is the way I look at a $150,000 savings....I can do lots of upgrades to suit my personal taste. Remove a couch and install a computer desk, change a shower enclosure, etc. As long as the build quality is there, the personal taste items are an easy change and a big savings.

Just got back from looking at mine and the curved shower doors are definitely glass NOT plastic. So if the Anthem are glass I doubt very much that the shower doors in the Cornerstone are plastic.
