Looking for a nice RV Park in NC

We are going to be heading through NC in March and looking for ideas. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions for where we might spend a few days to a week in NC. Doesn't matter what side. Thx!

Well if it wasn't March I would suggest going via Ashville, so instead I would suggest going via Raleigh/Durham. We stayed at the KOA near Burlington but probably a bit far to Raleigh. But there are several choices nearby.

We Managed The Great Outdoor RV Resort in Franklin NC last year and it is a great park. Highest rated Good Sam park around and the new owners are fantastic folks. Give it a try.

For the Asheville side we stayed at the Asheville East KOA. Just as an FYI, Mama Gerties is a nice location too, but very tough to get into as it is on the side of a mountain.

In the Durham there is a great state park, Rollingview Campground, Falls Lake. Several sites with 50 Amp / Water, but no sewer. Do not use their pull through sites as they will not be suitable for a 45 footer. I would call the rangers and have them tell you which sites have the best access for a 45 footer.

The good thing is that if you are a senior the sites are only 18 dollars a night.

We live near Raleigh and can highly recommend the Campgrounds around Jordan Lake State Park, Popular Point being our favorite. Lake Jordan is a little south of Raleigh and convenient to Chapel Hill and Durham. There are sites with water and electric for 45's. Depending on the timing you may need a reservation. They have a non reservation loop too but you will not have ad many choices.

Also, Rolling Hills CG on Falls Lake, north of Raleigh is very nice. It's also a State Park similar to Lake Jordan. Wooded large sites, most fairly private with water and electric.

If you like the mountains of western NC there is a National Forest CG near Brevard, NC. Davidson River CG is on the river a few miles outside Brevard and about 40 minutes from Asheville. Only about 30 sites with water and electric so a reservation might be good.

There is a new park near Mebane (Basically Burlington) which is convenient to the center of the state. UNC, Duke, Greensboro, Winston Salem and Raleigh are nearby

Jones station RV Park

Not luxury but well set up and very nice folks. Front sites are open and rear is wooded. They were expanding, but that may be on hold due to sudden death of the owner. His spouse is now running it.

We live in western NC and this is our go to spot for visiting family

+1 we stayed there last year while visiting my parents who live 30 minutes up the mountain on Lake Glenville. Very well maintained & scenic campground! Beautiful place & lots of outdoor activities to do in the area. Another top notch resort in the area is Mountain Falls motorcoach resort.

Dan Nicholas Park in Rowan County, just outside of Salisbury, NC is a very cozy, quiet little spot, at least in the off season.

We love Mama Gerties; but if dog walking is one of your activities then be forewarned that there are hills in them there hills!
