Loose Hub Cover

This is the first time we've been out in decent weather since we were in Charlotte in August. I did a thorough wheel cleaning, and found one wheel had a loose hub cover (maybe 3 clicks).

I doubt we would have lost the cover, but it was loose enough to rattle... Just a reminder it would be a good idea to check your hub covers any time wheel work is done. Thanks,

BG

As a further reminder, the jam nuts that hold the hub covers only need 40 ft-lbs and tire shops routinely over torque them. Which make them very difficult to remove when it's time for a tire change. The over torque distorts the thin metal so the holes become out of round and they jam on the lug nut threads. Took the tire shop 30 minutes to free each of my hub covers without ruining them after the 'pros' at the Winnebago factory service torqued them to 125 ft-lbs.
