Low coolant sensor replacement, Entegra anthem

Our 2018 Anthem with 450 Cummins ( K2 spartan chassis) needs to have Low Coolant sensor replaced. Since they are made of plastic I have been told they can break off if not careful and then it has to be drilled out, re tapped etc.'

I am looking for a video that shows successful removal.
Anyone know of one and if so how I find it?
Thanks in advance
Tom

I've had mine out a few times. The end with the wire is plastic but the threaded part is metal. You'll probably break the sensor removing it if you're not careful, but the threaded part won't be hard to remove.

When replacing it, make sure you use plenty of Teflon tape on the threads

Low coolant sensor

Dave & Jinny, Thanks much for your answer
You said your threads were metal, mine appear to be plastic all the way. Maybe a different sensor. I had heard they may break off, Spartan tech suggested "mild heat" will help. I plan on using my heat gun instead of a torch.
I really appreciate you taking the time to respond.
Thanks again,
Tom

Mine broke off and I had to drill it out. I then used a bolt with standard threads to repair any drilling issues as I screwed it thru several times. Reinstalled the sensor and had no problems after that.

If they are plastic threads and it breaks off, I use one of the these to get broken plastic threads out of sprinkler systems. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Orbit-Riser-Extractor/3420774

You may want to check with Freightliner to see if its still under warranty. Sensor in my 2019 went bad and was replaced under warranty three weeks ago
