low water pressure on city water
Hi
I have low water pressure in my rig. It's a 2019 Cornerstone. I removed the whole house filter and also the second smaller one in the wet bay. No improvement. Water was a bit brown at the main filter. My service guy put a charcoal filter in my main house cartridge holder a few months ago.
Water pressure is fine with pump turned on, so it's not the faucet screens. Water pump went bad a few weeks ago, and the new pump has 70 psi kick off as opposed to the 55 from the prior. Prior was a 4 gal/min and new is 5 gal. The vendor at the Gillette FMCA event said this pump is a good replacement for the prior, but I'm no sure.
Again, with pump on, no problem.
Do I need to put some sort of bypass around the pump when using city water?
Please help

City water inlet assembly has a check valve in it........they can fail and cause low city water pressure/flow
**City water goes directly into RV Cold Water Plumbing same as Pump Discharge ----- no bypass around pump

Would be very surprised if you were receiving 70# of pressure from the park water system. Maybe at night when everyone is sawing wood.

Just posting my experience here, but I doubt that you had 55psi from the old pump. They normally come from the factory with a about 45psi pressure. This is my finding attaching a pressure gage. The pump can be adjusted, which I have done, up to the 50 to 55 psi that it is rated for.
I also doubt that your new pump actually pumps the 70 psi that it is rated for.
One thing to understand about water pumps is that there are two ends of the chart. At one end, the pump will deliver 5 gal per minute at "0" psi, and at the other end of the chart, where it's pumping 70 psi, it won't be pumping 5 gal per minute of water. If they provide a performance chart of your pump, you will be able to see that.
As for the poor shore water flow, since you have removed the filters, then I would suspect a back flow valve being blocked or stuck as the next thing to look at. The pump water flow is fine, so trace the pump hose up to the place where it joins the shore water hose, then go back towards the shore water connections to see what else is in the line that might cause a restriction.

5 gpm 70 psi are the pump ratings which has nothing to do with OPs lack of city water
No City water is the issue
Inlet assembly check valve failure
Hose reel if so equipped failure
In line 'regulator' failure
I would eliminate those as the problem first

What is the water pressure at the faucet? Having one of these sold at Lowe's helps if it's campground or a coach problem. https://www.lowes.com/search?searchT...=1421523988916

City water can test at 50 psi static ( no flow ) but not have the flow to maintain that.
If the lines have long runs, kinks, or restrictions, then you're not going to see 50 psi with a faucet open.
You need to install the psi gauge with a tee. Then watch the psi with a faucet or two open. Good flow will keep the psi up.

I have had CG faucets that were 25 psi at the faucet. Instead of trying to "fix" the MH, just fill the tank and run off of it during the stay. The OP said the pump pressure was fine.

Thanks to all of you for the responses. My fix ended up being simple. I called Lee at Entegra. He told me to take the filters out in the wet bay and see what happened. No improvement. Since the pressure was good using the water pump, he said it is an incoming water supply problem.
We stay at this park for 6 months in the winter and knew that it is not a problem with the shore water. He told me to reel my incoming hose all the way out and check for kinks. Sure enough, there was a kink in the hose which was reducing the water flow.
An easy fix with no parts and no costs!! A nice win. If you own your rig long enough, you will get to know it very well.
Again, thanks to all for your responses!

Way to go.
I have had that issue on both my Entegra’s. Right near the end of the hose. That little kink can greatly reduce your hose flow.
The few times I have reeled the hose all the way out, I have learned to be careful reeling the hose back in.

Glad you got it fixed. Another couple of snag points might be the screens Entegra puts on the reel elbows. I had it all apart yesterday and noticed a little clogging in both elbows.

Possible obstruction
I have an '18 Anthem and had a similar problem. The issue turned out to be an obstruction. In my coach, there is a brass 90-degree elbow that connects the hub of the hose reel to the coach piping system. Inside the elbow was a fine mesh screen that was heavily blocked by sediment. Cleaning the screen fixed the pressure loss.
