Macerator gate valve open or closed
Who, with macerator equipped Entegra’s, close the inside gate valve each time and how many leave it open so all they have to do is hit the appropriate switch after the hose is hooked up?

I have always left mine open except when I want to use the slinky. It is designed to be left open. JMHO

The Macerator gate valve can remain open at all times, even with our modified system with a below deck drain immediately after the gate valve.
We just use the individual tank valves to manage waste.

I keep ours closed as I never know from campground to campground whether I will use that or the slinky hose and that depends on how long we are staying in that campground.

Vance, I don't know if this helps, but the 19's come with electric gate valve so they are closed all of time until the switch is turned on.

Leave either the slinky or macerator manual gate valve open depending on which one I'm using. Macerator so grey water will drain, slinky so I can dump from inside using electric gate valve switches.

Chuck - I think we may have the same setup. There are also old-style gate valves behind the panel so you can open to macerator or slinky.
My PDI tech said someone wanted it left open but recommended against it. That didn’t make sense to have a convenient setup that you complicated by having to remove and reinstall a panel each time.

I understand what you are asking now, I leave the mancerator gate valve open. I'll close it if I use the slinky. Like you, I can't see open the door each time. I didn't have double gate valves on the slinky for years, not going to start now.
