Macerator Hose extension, 2022 Cornerstone

I have a cornerstone on order and want to keep my macerator extension hose. I installed a cam and grove fitting between the outlet head and the hose on my Anthem and can stick my extension hose in there. I think the new ones have a cam and grove fitting at the start of the hose (inside the storage area) and perhaps I could just put my extension in there. Is that true??

The only issue I see with that is my extension doesn’t have the bag over it, so any leaks would be closer to my RV (or inside the storage area), so I would rather have the extension at the other end.

Has anyone done this and how did they do it? I assume the 2021s and perhaps 2020s are setup the same way.

Thanks

Van

I can’t answer about the 22’s, but our 21 has a camlock fitting just as it enters the forward side of the hose compartment. It faces towards the rear so doesn’t allow a lot of room for any kind of adapting. As for the covering, you should be able to buy it at any hydraulic hose repair shop and I would think you could source it online too.

I installed a camlock on the outside of the hose so I could detach the head for easier storage. Also an extension could be put there just as easy. I purchased the 1.5 inch cam locks at Tractor supply

On my 2021 the camlock is in the rear of the hose compartment facing out towards the passenger side. I too use camlock fittings (like Chuck) and carry the extension hose in a plastic box as there’s not enough room in the hose compartment for both the stock hose, the sewer nozzle and the extension. I added camlocks to both ends of the extension(one male and one female)to facilitate attaching the extension to the stock hose in case I need it. My nozzle is also cam locked like Chucks so it can be connected to either the stock hose or the extension.

Congratulations on the new Cornerstone. I am sure Jane will enjoy driving it.

I'll leave it to others to give advice on your macerator hose. I have found that opinions on this subject are like axxholes--everyone has one. You can just pick the one you agree with.

Best of luck

Thanks, sounds like I can use my existing extension (which has camlocks) by plugging it into the fitting inside the box.

Needed to double check after seeing seeg’s post. My camlock fitting is as seeg describes. I should know better than to trust my memory.
