I like your idea. When we were parked for a week I wanted to leave the hose hooked up to the sewer port so I could keep the hose storage bay door closed with the grey valve open so we could do laundry, dishes, and shower with out having to pay attention to the level in the tank. I routed the hose down through the hole in the hose storage bay and hooked it up. When it came time to store it I had a mess with the residual water in the hose when I tried to retract it through the hole. Your idea will solve that issue. Good work.

When I did the Sanicon fix, where the hard plastic pipe comes into the hose storage compartment, I put in an ell and another section of plastic pipe in the hose storage compartment angled up towards the door, stopping at about the level of the door bottom. At the end of the pipe where the hose attaches, I installed a female Camlok fitting which connects to the male fitting on the hose. This allows me to easily disconnect the hose from the pipe, and run it through the hole where the sewer discharge connection rests when not in use. This lets me keep the door closed when my Sanicon is in use. I cut an ice maker tubing, and pressed it around the sharp metal edge of the opening to protect the hose. The ice maker tubing is small enough to allow the sewer connection to rest in the opening while traveling. So far, it is working well. Thanks to the OP for the CamLok idea!

I've had a couple of issues with the SaniCon Turbo. The pump housing has an opening that has a rubber grommet for the electrical wiring leading to the pump. The grommet started leaking into the wet bay, and Entegra/SaniCon replaced the entire pump unit under warranty. Now, the second SaniCon has developed a leak from a pinhole or crack in the plastic housing. So tomorrow I get my newest (third) SaniCon unit installed.

The way the system is installed, with the pump below the black and gray water tanks, and then the SaniCon discharge hose rising up through the door, the pump is the low point of the system. This means if you are on gray water bypass using the SaniCon discharge hose, the pump housing is always full of water. Maybe the unit is designed for this, but I would prefer the water pass through without collecting in the pump housing. So I just collect water and pump it as needed, and don't use the gray water bypass unless we are doing laundry. I like a previous poster's idea of installing the Camlok on the storage compartment bottom exterior, which allows water to flow through without collecting in the pump housing. I usually use the slinky when I will be in one place for awhile, which also doesn't allow water to collect in the housing.

I hope others are having better luck with the pump units than me. I'd be curious if others are having similar issues. Once again, thanks to Entegra and SaniCon for standing behind their product and installation without question.

I just made a modification to my modification. I changed from the straight out cam lock connection to a 90 elbow downward. This helped when starting and the hose charges. Now if I could just learn how to make my photo show the 90 pointing down, I would be a happy camper!

I have never had a suitable slinky storage tube. THEREFORE (drum roll), I always use the smallest Sterilite box (with top) to hold the hose, adapters, chemicals, extensions, etc. My heavy black gloves ride on top. If anything leaks, it is contained by the box, and NO odor escapes. Works for me.

I like the cam lock idea and will also use it. Never having used them before, what size and style should I ask for. I would buy online if I knew what to order.

Thank's

Depending on where your connecting the cam lock here is the female which you will need a male to connect with.

PT Coupling Basic Standard Series 15C Polypropylene Cam and Groove Hose Fitting, Poly C-Coupler, 1-1/2" Coupler x Hose Shank

These are the ones I ordered. You can attach two hoses together with the male and female. Noel

Don't forget to order a cam lock plug also so that you can use the slinky port in emergencies without creating a mess.

Mallory

You won't need the plug with the sanicon mod from Entegra or a newer coach as they have supplied a manual slide cutoff just aft of the macerator. All JMHO

OK, no plug needed. I have located the mentioned cam lock couplers on Amazon. If I use the single hose setup I assume, hate that word, I'll need one male and one female coupler, two hose setup two of each. I can find the female couplers but not the male. What am I missing?

You are right about not needing the plug if Entegra did the fix. I chose to do the fix myself without the blade valve so I do need the plug.
