Thank's Steve, it's now in my Amazon cart.

Also thanks to all for the info and the help. Been thinking, with a cam lock system a plug may come in handy sometime.

I thought that the first macerator pump installed by Entegra wasn't until 2016 Model year?

And it is the Macerator Turbo, quite a bit different than the older models. Which is partly the reason why the hose can have issues due to the sudden blast of fluid going through it. The older ones weren't fast enough (and used a smaller diameter hose) to stress the hose that much. New learning curve with a new product and new installation for Entegra.

Mallory, where did you get the extra hose from? I've only seen one on-line and it's 21 ft long but only 1 inch in diameter? I'm thinking what we have on the coach is 1 1/2 inches correct?

Thanks in advance, Brian

Yep, it is a 1-1/2" hose and I've never found one online either. I did get one direct from Thetford though. Just make sure you tell them it's the Sanicon Turbo and that it's the 1-1/2" hose. It comes with the coupler and two nylon squeeze-type hose clamps. If I recall it was around $75-80.

When I get around to it I'll install camlock connectors to make it easier to couple and uncouple them. But my biggest issue with the system is the head. The head threads into the sewer connection but has a long arm on it at a right angle. If your sewer connection is close to anything, such as a water pipe, you can't turn the thing in to start the threads. On my old slinky it was easy to thread the adaptor in, then attach the hose. They could do a better design on that part.

Thanks Mark. I ordered the 21' on-line version not realizing it was 1", not 1 1/2". It's been too long to return so now I have this useless piece of hose Maybe I can find some 1" to 1 1/2" camlocks somewhere.

Been there, done that, returned it.

Even with adaptors I wouldn't advise putting the 1" hose on the Macerator Turbo though. The back pressure is bound to cause something to blow along the line or pop a seal or something else inside the macerator. It's just too much flow for that small of a hose.

Mark, I thought about that also so I called Thetford. They advised to use a 3/4 garden hose for an extension and that the back pressure would be no problem. I ordered the 21ft extra hose!

Mark,
I ran into the same issue with the head being to long to be able to thread it into the sewer port so I made a couple of adapters that have worked about 90% of the time. When you thread these into the port there is no worry about it popping out or leaking. They don't seem to fit the sewer ports with the hinged lids but the stock grey head works fine for those. I love the cam locks I put on this system.

That's similar to what I did. I picked up a pair of male/female couplers so that I can screw one into the sewer and one onto the head. It also helps with some of those sewer connections that are recessed into the ground. Eventually I'll cam-lock the whole system and make a better adaptor. I like your setup.

Does anybody else out there think that the macerator is an unnecessary complication or is it just me? I never had any of these problems with the slinky. It just works!
