Thetford does say you can use a hose to extend up to 150', and you should expect evacuation times to slow accordingly.
I would think if it got hot enough, it would pop a fuse.
I'm thinking of using a standard high quality Goodyear hose like I carry for other non-potable uses.
Ideally, I will attach a quick connect and see how it works.

As long as it's pumping I don't think that it would get hot enough to not cause any seal damage with a 3/4" hose. The fluid will cavitate around the impeller if extra resistance is put on the macerator's outlet. But fresh fluid is always coming in so the heat shouldn't build up that much. These things are used intermittently anyway. It's not like they will run for an hour straight. It's more important to not let them run dry for long periods of time.
Any heat would be on the impeller shaft seal, not the motor, so I don't think it would ever pop a fuse. I think you would have to lock up the motor an jam it up solid before that would happen.

Mark, agreed. That is my take on it as well.
Thanks very much.

Matt you should be able to find 3/4 cam lock fittings if that's the route you are taking.

OK, so today I mocked this up and tested it. Unfortunately I wasn't able to locate any 3/4" hoses at either the HD or Lowes nearby so I used 5/8" hose to test the theory anyway.
What you see in the pictures are 1 1/2" PVC coming from the gate valve after the macerator, down through the wet bay floor, then into 3/4" PVC and then 5/8" hose.
The only additions not included, that would be necessary to make this setup viable would be the addition of a shutoff valve at the end of the PVC.
I filled the black tank to 96% then timed the drain. From 96% to pump cavitation was just a hair over 5 minutes. Stock form it's about a minute.
Overall, I'm not really satisfied with the result. While I'm quite happy with the compact form factor, I'm not tickled with the sluggish performance time wise. The volume of material coming from the end of the hose is substantial.
I guess I'm going to experiment with a 1 1/2" solution next.
-Matt
P.S. One benefit to this system is I have three hoses and the sewer doughnut in the small sewer hose bay. I also have a bunch of 3/4" PVC pipe to add length if my three hoses aren't long enough.

The only place I was able to find 3/4 inch garden hose was Ace hardware. Enjoying your experiments.

Got mine at the local Walmart. 100 ft makes it heavy and bulky but a good, high grade rubber hose.

Matt, I agree, I tried a 5/8" hose from the macerator and as I remember got about 4 to 5 gal's per minute which would be ok for maybe home dumping or occasional use. But at that rate you would be 20 to 25 minutes for a full dump. Not good. See pic of DW with garden hose.
If you did go to the 11/2 " feed pipe like your thinking about and cam-locks, you might consider using something similar in the pics shown. I also show a 1 1/2" pipe to a 3" adapter with the 3" slinky connector I built. This would give you the option of a 3" slinky or the standard macerator hose. This would also give you the full dump flow capability of your macerator.
I like your idea and also played around with it a little. Problem I ran into was with the low pipe I would have needed a slice valve shutoff which I avoided by having a sloped up pipe. The slice valve seemed to reduce my ground clearance a little to much. Maybe you have that solved. I think you have a good plan and look forward to seeing your results.

Pat, the 5 minutes was timed from 96% full. Close enough to full for me.
Full to empty in 5 minutes. Certainly not bad, but I'm still thinking about it.
I have a gate (slice) valve immediately after the macerator. I want a valve at the end of my 3/4" pipe as a little material remains in this short leg. Additionally, were a trooper to see anything drain out I'd probably get a ticket the same as you would if your 3" cap is dangling.
To keep this in perspective, once I have mounted the 3/4" pipe properly, nothing would be lower than the wet bay door edge. I'm going to rattle everything black and it will be invisible. Also, if you hit something that takes this plumbing out, it will take out the 3" drain first as that is lower, and all of the bay doors.
The 3/4" pipe fits very snugly to the bottom of the coach.
-Matt

Matt, IIRC my local Ace Hardware store had 50', 75' and 100' foot 3/4 inch hose, but that was only in the spring when the bring in all of the gardening items. They are showing the different lengths on their web site, but at higher prices than what I paid. I would think Tractor Supply would have them as well. Garden Hose, Flexible and Coil Water Hose at Ace Hardware
