Macerator hose install

So my macerator hose on my 2017 Anthem is leaking and Entegra Coach is sending me a new one. Has anybody had the pleasure of installing one of these? I am wondering about the working space in the small compartment where it is stored and whether I will be able to do this.

I changed mine. I used a 1/4" drive ratchet with a 6" extension and 5/16 socket to loosen the clamp. Dealing with the clamp is the most difficult part.

Good luck.

Some PVC, and a couple of 90s and you can resolve this permanently..

OMG The photos posted. The top photo shows the white elbow going through the floor of the wet bay. Second photo shows the finished pipe under the wet bay with cam lock coupling with cover installed. I did this so the problematic hose does not remain hanging out of the door and now I can drain the hose and pipes completely to avoid freezing. I still store the hose in the original compartment.

Nice work Larry, looks like we both chose the same spot to drill.

I like the use of cam lock fittings. Another member did a similar setup and his looks very tidy as well.

I suspect Entegra hasn't embraced this approach as it defeats the concept of eliminating a separate hose.

Tall Tex, it looks like your cam lock couplings are very close to the ground and thereby susceptible to road damage. Please explain if I am seeing this incorrectly.

In reality it is not lower than the Aquahot exhaust pipe. When the bay door is closed, there is just enough clearance to couple and uncouple the hose. Plus it is less than a foot from the drive tires. If the pipe hits the ground I have bigger problems than pipe damage.

Thanks Matt. The OEM set up is easy and clean when it performs right. I really did not like the storage door open when the hose was out. We are taking the coach to Aurora, CO for thanksgiving and I did not want to worry about the hose freezing since it is not in the heated basement. Seeing your photos inspired me to figure out how to post photos. We certainly thought along the same lines on this modification. I guess Texans think alike.

I did this repair 2 days ago. Went well. Had two hose clamps that were not the best quality that I replaced.
The joint came apart easily, was pleased it went so well.
Wear gloves, not a bad job.
