Maiden Voyage - This coach is AWESOME

So we took two weeks for the maiden voyage - Murfreesboro, TN to Orlando to Marco, FL to Murfreesboro, TN. The trip down was nothing special, short 3-4 hr drives lots of family visits and sightseeing. We had a great trip, enjoyed the RV parks we stayed in and the coach performed flawlessly.

But this post is about the trip home.

We originally planned to make the 900 mile trip home in a leisurely 3 days trip but that changed. We pulled out of Marco on Friday around noon and arrived in Alachua FL around 6pm. It was an awesome drive, stayed off the interstate and just enjoyed the ride. Saturday morning, we pulled out of Alachua at 6:30am and arrived at the house at 3:00pm and now I understand The Entegra slogan is NOT marketing fluff

This is truly the best riding coach, PERIOD. 8.5 hours on the road and I enjoyed every minute of it. The DW asked to drive north of Atlanta but I was having too much fun. Thanks Spartan and ENTEGRA COACH!

I can't wait for our next trip!

They are great riding coaches WITHOUT a doubt. Glad that Classic is everything you thought it would be.

Chuck, we got of I75 and went up through Arcadia, Bowling Green etc, got on 27 north of Clermont and then back on I75 and it was awesome. I get it now, thanks for the recommendation. (we also took the non-interstate route from Orlando down to Marco)

We rode the interstate today in the interest of time, but I will be using the major non-interstate routes when time permits!

Glad you were able to enjoy the "locals" route and not fight that mess on 1-75. Avoiding I-75 and I-4 makes a trip to FL much more enjoyable. You should be on hwy17 in the spring when the orange trees are in bloom......awesome!

Michael, I'm glad to hear you're a believer.

I'm quite impressed with our Aspire, and had to lean on it quite a bit harder than we ever pressed our Phaeton.

While I typically drive 62-65 MPH and run for 3-4 hours, then a short 15 minute break and continue for another 3-4 hours and take meal breaks. We can knock off some good miles by starting early.

I tried driving the Phaeton at 70-75 MPH once and it was a lot of work.

The Aspire makes 75 MPH feel as comfortable as our Phaeton did at 55. I certainly don't plan to drive like that in the future, but we sure knocked out some serious miles due largely to how comfortable and quiet the new coach is. (Orlando to CA in 60 hours)

-Matt

CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW COACH; I never get tired of climbing in the coach and driving to the next adventure. Regards

Matt, yes most of our interstate driving was at or near the speed limit with absolute comfort! The GPS would give me the speed warning message going down hill occasionally. We did that 8.5 hours with 2 stops one for fuel and one to walk the dog.

I drive the anthem at those kinds of speeds regularly. 75 all day today towing the toad across AZ and NM. The Dutch Star would have crippled me doing that, if it was even possible.

We will be putting our new Insignia through it's paces soon with a trip from NY to Atlanta and back. If I'm not mistaken, your 2014 Aspire is on the same chassis. I can't wait to drive it...
