I use the same type of cookware and dishes in the coach as I do in the house. Good pans (whatever you are used to cooking on now), stoneware and glassware. My only concession was to go to the stemless wine glasses. We carry a small table and use it for the grill when we don't need it for ourselves. We always have folding chairs. Same as most - we use a rug on dirt, keep it off grass. Many of the nicer parks have paved patios and we will sometimes use our rug there also. I use a slow cooker and toaster. I wanted a toaster oven but didn't have the storage space for it and the slow cooker so opted for the toaster instead. I also carry a cast iron frying pan and a portable induction burner for making seared tuna steaks or frying fish. I can get the controlled heat I need and get the grease out of the coach. Good luck!

We also went with stemless wine glasses, takes up less room. Liked them so much, bought a set for the S&B, now I don't need my "tippy cup"
You can tell us southern cooks, we had blackened Grouper in MI last year on ours. Them northern folks couldn't figure what all the smoke was about. E&S bulk foods in Shipshewanna sells an excellent blacken seasoning. Someone there must have a little Coonass in them.

Thanks for the tip on the seasoning! We love blackened grouper...blackened almost anything! If you get there first...drop some off on your way back south!

We carry important items that we dare not risk being broken, so I bought steel: These

We carry a small folding table (availability nor usability of picnic tables aren't guaranteed), two mats (one 9x16 for the "patio" itself - and a smaller 6 x 9 that we put under the entry steps themselves), a surge protector (which we use religiously to check the condition of shore power before we plug in and which stays inline while we're plugged in).

As far as heat sources for cooking go - in addition to the 2 burner propane stove and the convection microwave oven - we also carry a coffee pot, a small crock pot, an electric skillet, a small toaster oven and a small propane grill.

We've got a mix of dishes ... a set of melamine dishes for every day use ... as well as two place settings of real dishes for "special" meals. We use acrylic drinking glasses - but carry 4 real glass wine glasses.

We're not what I'd call "foodies" - but we are fat folks, so cooking plays a big part in our lives - which means we "play" in our kitchen. The pantry is well stocked and includes a pretty good selection of spices, oils and such. We use the overhead cabinets in the salon for dishes and pantry items. We use the cupboard under the table to store the "extra" appliances when we're moving. We don't have any special "organizers" - but have made a space for everything - and do a reasonable job of keeping everything in its place.

I cook a lot, and want this to be as home like as possible since we will be in it 5 months this year, I use regular glass wear. I buy my glass ware from the dollar store. It is heavy duty and has held up well. I also use Correlle dinnerware and highly recommend as it takes up no room for storage. I have a crock pot, electric skillet, and an instapot. I use foam to cushion the dishes as we travel so that they do not jiggle too much. I also use plastic shoe boxes in the frig to keep things stable. we also have a small gas grill in the basement. We had a line installed to be able to use our onboard propane tank. ONe thing we just bought was a rack which attaches to the ladder to dry clothes on. WHen we started this a little over a year ago, I basically set up a new household. ANother valuable thing is a weather alert.

We have the Magna stacking stainless steel cook set, very nice and stores compactly.

For spices my wife found a set of test tubes with a wooden rack. Holds about 40 tubes. Comes with cork stores and labels for the spices. We have lots of spices and seasonings. This rack doesn't hold all of ours but most of the commonly used ones. We don't have pantry but fits in one of our kitchen drawers which is fairly tall. Unfortunately can't locate link for one she bought.

My wife and I are big foodies and love to cook.

Be aware melamine can not be used in the microwave oven. We use Corelle and love it. It stores compact and a nice compromise for feeling like real dishes. They are very strong and heat friendly. They will shatter if dropped on a hard surface. We have never broken one yet.

For pots and pans we purchased the trip ply set at Costco, Kirkland brand. You cannot beat the price and and quality. Induction ready too. Awesome set.

We do carry a pressure cooker. We like the speed that you can cook things as well as we use it as a regular pot with a conventional lid. We have the Fagor duo. Also induction ready.

We carry a folding table as we have often stayed at RV parks with no pick-nick table. Also we have a small folding table just for the grill as many RV parks will not allow you to put a grill on their table if they have one.

We do carry a rug however rarely use it. It can be nice however it can also be a pain to clean when sandy and or wet.

Once you travel you will certainly figure out what you need and don't need.

Have fun,

Stuart

I can say ditto to almost all of the other posts. I'd just like to add take along what you already own. Don't buy new or different until you really decide what you need/want. It all really does add up. I have my spices in a small wooden orange crate that had cuties in it. The spices are face up in the crate, that way I can see what I need. We are lucky to have a very large pantry that I keep food and larger cooking equipment. The pantry is where a washer and dryer can go. We've decided for now not to buy them. Have fun stocking up your motorhome. We sure are still.

Pretty much what everyone else said except we mostly boondock so no need really for a crockpot or anything else that uses a lot of power. We carry a small charcoal grill and a small portable coleman two burner portable stove. Never liked BBQ on a propane grill. My wife likes to cook outside and we do carry a 2'x4' folding table but seldom use it if we're in campsites as they're usually supplied.

We added folding chairs with the little flip up table attached a couple of years ago. They get used daily and a lot more than a table. Wouldn't be without them now.

We use melmac dishes and regular stainless steel pots and pans but we would never be without our cast iron fry pans. Don't care how much they weigh.

The first thing we decided was that anything we use for camping or traveling stays in the RV. Nothing gets taken out between trips (except to clean). If we need it we buy it for the RV, right down to phone chargers, ketchup, aspirin, toothbrushes and toothpaste in the medicine cabinet. We just add fresh food, water, and anything we are getting short on for that particular trip. We have jackets, clothes, hiking boots, etc that always stay in the RV. Makes it a heck of a lot easier if we decide we want to leave on short notice. You don't forget things then either. It's always packed and ready to go.

Have fun.

X2, we have RV stuff and house stuff. We ar always packed and generally only need to pack the food to get on the road, and when we get home we only take out laundry (which goes right back in) and any food we have left. We can typically get underway in less than 30 minutes.
