Yes, I'm confident that is the case, in that a Garmin GPS unit used only in the USA wouldn't need maps of Canada or Mexico and one used only in Canada wouldn't need U.S. maps. On the other hand, if a given owner was traveling from say Arizona to Alaska, he or she would want both U.S. and Canadian maps.

That said, I'm not sure why any RV owner would need Worldwide maps. And I'm not sure why your 890 is showing Worldwide maps AND North America maps. Seems like Worldwide would include North America.

If it was my unit I'd be inclined to delete Worldwide and North America and just download the U.S. map data base. But we don't have any near-term plans to travel into Canada or Mexico.

I suppose it's also possible that a newer Garmin GPS unit like the 890 could have different map databases than an older unit like the 760...?

I have the 890 and it's my first garmin. Not really impressed to be honest. It's glitched more than once and has trouble connecting to my phone and giving live traffic info.
On I40 heading east it makes a big mistake on lane assistance. It says any of the 3 left lane and you're going on I44 in the left most lane. Pretty sure I'll be backing up at some point if I ever just rely on the garmin

I have not been able to verify yet, but I did receive the following email about an hour ago:

Hello,

City Navigator North America NT 2022.20 has been released. With this release, map updates have been re-enabled for your device. To update, follow the steps in the FAQ Updating Automotive Maps and Software with Garmin Express.

Dewey, I too received that e-mail. I'm in the process of updating my 760 right now, and everything seems to be working. The map download is about 50% complete and the estimated time to completion is 25 minutes.

I'll post an update once the update successfully completes (or doesn't).
