Marker Light replacement
Well I committed a bonehead move. Red marker light in the back was out so I went to change it and clipped off the old and reached for the new and the wire slipped out of my hand and disappeared in the hole. Gonna have to figure out how to fish out the wire. Anybody know how far the wire will retract and do I stand a chance of grabbing it? It’s hard fishing through the small round holes.

Oops….
I have only changed a marker light on the front.
I did not lose a wire but the wires did not have much slack to work with.
Maybe try some hemostats or something like that to try and make a lucky grab.

On my 2006 Lexington, one of the rear top marker light wires slipped in (same thing, leg go for an instance). I used a dental mirror, flashlight and coat hanger bent with small hook. Took a few minutes but fished it out (back about a foot).
Good luck

If you can see the wires, I have had success with these. Available at Harbor Freight.

The marker light holes on mine are 3/4" in diameter. A coat hanger or dental pick set is about all there is room for.

Look for one with a smaller end, it will be a lot easier to use. I found one in Lowe's a few years that had a tiny LED in the end. That was nice while the battery lasted.

I ended up taking the middle marker light off and fished a wire through both holes and tapped the wires for the middle marker light. Tried the scope with light and the grabber and couldn't find the wire that had retreated from the right marker light. I was smarter this time and tied a zip tie on the wire for the middle marker light so it wouldn't retreat back in the hole.

A very simple and reasonable solution, I would not have thought of it.

Good idea. Thanks for sharing the solution and warning about don’t lose the wire to start with.

I changed 3 of the rear upper market lights yesterday. I use these once I pull the wire out and cut the wires to keep them from disappearing.

I use the 6 LED Super Brite LED lights and buy the pigtail to put on - makes changing all the lights easier the next time.

The lights are daisy chained together in one common harness. You an probably remove the light next to the one that you lost the wire on, then use a mechanic's wire to extend to the opening for the neighboring light. Bend a slight 90 degree hook on the end and grab it with a needle nose. Use it as a pull wire to run a pair of new wires over to the empty hole after taping into the wires on the neighboring pigtail.
By the way, these lights are made by Command Electronics - www.commandelectronics.com and they are part nbr 003-17 Hot-Dot LED Lights. You have to specify the smoke lens color if you want to match up to the OEM Entegra lights and choose either amber or red for the LED colors. They sell for $10.00 a piece.
