Maytag and Whirlpool washing machine doesn't spin after wash
For those of us with Whirlpool or Maytag washer, (Maytag-Mhwc7500yw0). We have a 2013 Anthem with the maytag washer that would not go into high speed spin after wash cycle. After many hours of evaluations, including running self diagnostice tests via on board computer and not showing error codes, googling and talking with washing machine techs we got it figured out. The washer had worked fine up until a week ago, then just stopped spinning after wash cycle. The high spin cycle would run during the self diagnostic task so I knew it was capable. I opened the bottom cover of washer and unscrewed filter (put large towel underneath water will drain out) and found a quarter, penny and a screw. According to google this could stop the drain flow and cause spin cycle to not function. Removed debris and put back together and same scenario no spin. When cleaning the filter I noticed a slimy sludge from soapy residue being left behind, turns out this sludge migrates to a hose that leads to a pressure switch that reads static water pressure in the drum during operation, if the air in the hose does not move freely to the pressure switch, the switch sticks in the open position and shuts down the spin cycle thinking tub is full of water due to pump failure. Solution: Turn dial to "clean washer" use 2/3 cup bleach, run this cycle ( it takes 1hour 15 minutes, run aqua hot for hot water) the higher water level during this cycle and the bleach and HW will pull the sludge back outtta the hose (hopefully). You might have to run the cycle 2-3 times. If the sludge is hard packed in the hose you will need to remove the dryer and possibly washer and manually clean the pressure hose. This resolved our spin issue hope it works for you. Safe travels!

Thanks for the "heads up" on this issue.
Now, in retrospect thinking of your typical usage, is there anything that you think is unusual or unique in your coach use that might be responsible for the problem accumulation??

Hi Gary,
I believe the issue and sludge build up was from normal use and NEVER using the "Clean Washer" cycle. We have now adopted including that in our maintenance schedule of things to do to prevent issues. The only anomaly I saw was we are in a campground now for 3 weeks so no bounce from coach going down highway causing that switch to close instead of staying open. Safe travels.

Thanks for your best guess as to what happened or what might avoid the problem.
Drive safe!

Great info, thanks for posting!
I have replaced the pressure switch but never thought of the hose being plugged. That explains the intermittent failure of the spin cycle.
You can replace the pressure switch from the front of the washer, so it is possible to get at the hose that way too.
