MCD Shade Fell

So frustrated. The shade over our couch fell, and broke the motor wires. Has this happened to anyone? We’re having a hard time getting the 2nd mounting clip tightened enough. And then we need to rewire the motor back together. Any guidance from this group would be much appreciated!Click image for larger version

First take the valance down out of the way. I hate it when Entegra uses self tapping screws into wood. Did the clip pull out of the wood or the shade fall out of the clip? If the clip pulled out I'd put it back, in a different spot, with some #8 wood screws. On a couple of mine I've drilled a hole in the frame in between the shades and installed a couple extra screws.

Thanks JH—got the balance down. There are 2 clips on each side—one in Wall is the loose one. Click image for larger version

Since shade fastens to wall you can't add additional screws so the clips are your only supports.

Thanks to J.H. back in 2014, I replaced all of the shade mounting screws with #8 wood screws. The sheet metal screws used at the factory do not hold in wood. It is worth checking the other window mounts, especially the heavy windshield shade. That will wake you up if one of those fall while driving.
