Michelin 365 tire question
So I would like opinions on the damage to the tire in the following pictures. It’s off of my new CS with 250 miles since my purchase. Is it a tire issue or did I cause the damage without my knowledge?

Looks like a defect to me. Call Michelin and get it replaced

Wow. I am not a tire expert but it looks like damage to me. I guess anything is possible.
Front tire - I would surely want a new tire either way.
When cruising down the highway at 70 those front tires are critical. Retro Bands also just in case.
Good job and good thing you spotted the problem.

The photo makes it look it's already been dismounted. What is the shop telling you?
Take care,
Stu

The tire was replaced yesterday. I’m in Arizona and the only one that I could find was in New Jersey so it took a week to arrive.
Retro Bands are being installed on the 14th at NIRVC Las Vegas
And yes I was lucky to see it. I was looking underneath the coach for purchasing Snap Pads and couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

It is dismounted in these pictures. No real comment from the mobile tire guy other than did I want it as a spare. No I don’t think so. I really believe it was there when I accepted the coach, but I didn’t see it or it wasn’t there at that time, so it’s on me.
Good luck for any of us with 365’s if we have an issue out on the road as there literally are none available. Las Vegas NIRVC had no idea when they could get one.

This tire availability issue does have me nervous. I have several major trips planned this spring and summer. Tire and wheel coverage along with roadside assistance is kinda worthless with hardly any tires available in the entire country!!!

I paid abput $1750 per 365 to have shipped to me from the east coast.
However, I would be on the phone to a Michelin tire dealer or standing in their store. Those tires are guaranteed for about 7 years. I would first talk to where I purchased the coach and see what you hear and then Id be on the phone with Michelin. I wouldn't eat the cost of that tire until I was quite convinced that cut was my fault and not a tire defect, and if it was my fault, I'd sure as hell try to figure out what I did that I should never do again !!!!

Clearly road hazard damage, good luck with that.

You are not the first, several CS owners have had that problem. Read the entire post, others chimed in with their problem, some with photos

I have wondered if the 365 "shortage" worldwide/nationally for the past year was produced by a manufacturing problem with the rubber mixture used in tire manufacturer and Michelin simply stopped their production line. That "chunk" out of the tire looks almost identical to problems others have reported.

Which is why it looks like a defect to me and not ordinary road hazard damage.
Too many 365's with the same type of issue.
