Not on Lake Superior ... but on Lake Michigan and it is a new campground with full hookups along with 50 amp service. Can fit our rigs without a problem (from what I hear) .... https://manistiquelakeshorecampground.org/ According to others, you can easily drive to the Painted Rocks from here for a day trip. We have reservations for a week there in September.

There are a few sites at each park, call the campground direct to see what site will fit your coach and reserve

We are planning to leave Charlotte, MI on 1 June and drive to the Tiki RV Park and Campground in St Ignace, MI. We plan to spend four nights there then we are crossing the border and going across Canada to Alaska. We have made the trip to Alaska before, but it was up from Montana and down to Washington. Any suggestions on the UP or cross Canada would be appreciated. John and Barbara

...
St Ignace - Gateway Lanes, Fri fish dinner; Homemade Pasties, buy frozen for meals on travel days; Mackinac Fish Market (less salty) or Manley's Fish Market (more salty), great smoked fish.
Sault Ste Marie - Soo Locks Boat Tour, great way to see locks. Antlers Lounge, lots of stuffed animals, pricey food.

As previously mentioned, the Soo Locks ( The Soo Locks, Sault Ste Marie) is interesting. My aviation interest made the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre ( CBHC) in Sault Ste. Marie, ON a must see. This one is a little on the "goofy" side: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/wawa-goose
OK, Isle Royale National Park ( https://www.nps.gov/isro/index.htm) is a little out of the way, but is an interesting excursion. Kind of an obscure NP and not really easy to get to (ferry or float plane), but a fascinating ecosystem. Very limited on island lodging. You can do it as a one-day excursion. IF you decide you want to do the ferry, send me a PM and I'll be happy to share a couple of tips that will make the trip much more enjoyable.
We found the Trans-Canada Hwy to be, for the most part, an easy, beautiful drive.
As you probably observed on your prior trip to AK, be familiar with living on 30 amp power.
Take care,
Stu

If you can reserve site 86 at Tiki. Site 85 is good, but 86 is better overlooks Lake Huron. Don't miss breakfast at Java Joes, bottom of the hill and left for about 100 yds. The whitefish mac and cheese is also outstanding.

If you golf, and there are a lot of excellent courses in the UP, but if you are traveling through Marquette, the Marquette golf course (Grey Walls) is insanely fun. I equate it more to pinball.
