Microwave crashed

While driving through Pennsylvania on I-80 my factory installed microwave came crashing down onto the cooktop. Fortunately I had some other items on the cooktop which protected it.
Today I completed installing a new GE convection microwave of the same physical dimensions and saw that where the installation instructions call for three bolts to be installed from the overhead support only two were installed when the MH was built. Not sure if the third would have prevented the loss, but knowing that the side with the magnetron are designed to have two supports but only one was installed, I question why Entegra does not follow the manufacturers instructions.

What year coach? A few changes, even an owner change have happened over the years. Prior to 2015 there wasn't even a quality control department.

In 2014 they had two bolts, I changed mine and it had 2 bolts in it. I have a feeling the one bolt was an over sight before they had any quality control inspectors.

I just installed exact microwave in my kitchen, the microwave MUST fit properly into the lower lip of the frame. The 3 bolts hold it up. In my opinion the microwave was not inserted into the lower frame properly.

Should have said Entegra only used 2 bolts. After rereading the OP, I believe the problem was I-80. I don't think 4 bolts would have held it together. I broke a tow bar on I-80, except in OH. Still the same condition of I-80.

I agree with that. I had my original microwave replaced on my PDI and they had a heck of a time getting it to mount correctly on the rear frame mount. I-80 would have finished it off.
