Microwave finally died

Well, my original GE microwave finally died (built March 2013). Discovered you can't just go out and buy an over-the-range convection microwave. Had to order one with a 2 week lead time. It sucks when you lose your oven AND microwave at the same time.

Lowe's is showing 4 in stock in my area of the current Whirlpools that Entegra is now using. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Whirlpool-S...eel/1000293847

Currently in Casa Grande AZ. One could not be found from Phoenix to Tucson, online or in person. Best timing I got was from a local appliance store. 2 weeks vs 4 weeks from big box places.
Getting another GE Profile. Probably won't last near as long as the original.

Be very thankful you received a GE. The later 14's, mine included, had Samsungs. I doubt if any of those are still working unless not used. I replaced two under warranty, gave up and purchased the Whirlpool while at Entegra.

Sorry there is a shortage in AZ. Looks like the hurricane displaced Snowbirds went to AZ this year. Lowe's had a "hurry low on stock" on the GE Profile also. I am surprised with all of the hurricane rebuilding going on that appliances are still in stock here.

One of the advantages of having a late 13 build, they hadn't changed over to Samsung yet. Have a GE fridge also.
I have learned that unless it's a special situation (RV with no oven), people want a convection microwave or an over the range microwave for ventilation, but not both. I could have replaced it with either one of those the same day.

Ray, Voltdoc, (Rob Picchione) did a YT segment on replacing his microwave. Might find some tips and tricks in your replacement.
Search You Tube using his name.

Will do, removal was easier than I expected. Biggest thing was stacking large pillows on the range to support it.

Test the capacitor and fuse.

May be all it needs.

They were all good. I figure after 9 1/2 years it's probably time for a replacement.

So, that’s what ALL those pillows EC provided for the bed are used for……I knew it wasn’t just to be pretty

Exactly! Those big square ones on the bed are very hand for that!

They were a vital necessity when Entegra was using Samsungs. It was a double your money back guaranty that they would be used to change the microwave.

Finally, I received my new microwave. Hardest part was maneuvering the bulkiness around. Since it is a GE Profile replacing the same, the only mods I needed to do was redrill new holes in the support hanger bar.

Our replacement of the GE with a GE has worked just fine for 5 years. Good luck.
