Mixing Aqua Hot fluids, myth or reality?

Just spoke with another forum member that needs to add AH fluid and was told by both Jacob and PJ at Entegra that mixing Camco pink with Century green will have no effect. I am curious has anybody had any adverse effect from mixing the two or is that a myth that was started on the internet?

As expensive as these units are, is it worth the chance? I'm willing to bet that it would be fine, and if it was a desperate time then it would be an acceptable risk. Most coolants can be mixed without issue's other then changing the color. But if at all possible I'd only add with same. Better yet flush out what's in there and re-fill with a known product and then keep a couple gallons for topping off as needed.

Per Mike @ CS, yes you can mix the two. Entegra only switch the color to make it easier to identify the fluid in a leaking situation. Entegra also stated that if you do mix the two and you take your rig into service, tell the shop so they won't think there is a problem and charge you for a flush/refill.

I topped mine off with pink over a year ago and haven't had any issues.

Aqua hot told me not to mix them. They said the chemical reaction between the two has not been checked. I would be reluctant to mix them especially while under warranty, unless Aqua hot gave me a letter stating it was o.k. Noel

Noel, the other member was told by Entegra that the fluids have been tested to be identical and OK to mix. That was the reason of this post was to see if there was any reaction to those that have mixed or if any new news had been relayed from AH as it had from Entegra.

Was the statement from AH recently?

I don't read it to say they have been tested. Yes the statement is very recent. Within the last week. Noel

Good Morning, The pink, Camco -100 boiler antifreeze, and the green, Century transfer fluid cannot be mixed together. Matt Quintana | Service Technician Training Manager Aqua-Hot Heating Systems, Inc. | 7501 Miller Drive, Frede...

The manufacture of the Camco brand does not recommend mixing it. Also, it will discolor the antifreeze, so technicians will think it has been contaminated, and there has been no long term testing to see if there would be a chemical reaction.

I added the Camco pink boiler antifreeze to top mine off a few weeks back. No issues to date.

Noel, thank you, that is the kind of info I was looking for. I don't plan on mixing. I was kind of surprised to get that info this morning from someone that had talked to Entegra.

It's not so much the cost factor, it's the availability. Camco pink is everywhere. Century green is only at dealers that "may" have it, or on Amazon.

As of this morning, both are exactly the same based on the chemists report. Someone is being sold a bill of goods.
