Yes, it was a shock to I'd at first, but after owning this for the past 6 months, I'd spend that much for this softener again. It's a quality of life issue for us since we're full timers. It is well worth it...but it's only money. And some people upgrade their coaches every year. I remember buying several Kenetico water systems for our homes and they run about the same. It's all relative to your lifestyle I guess. We're sticking with our 2015.
