I appreciate you sharing this. I will have to find a better alternative for the nitrile gloves that fall apart everyrime I'm dealing with the tanks.

That's a scary story and your testimony is very thoughtful darjacob. This undoubtedly will stick as a helpful reminder for those that read it. I recently switched to a Lippert sewer hose where the wire is coiled on the outside of hose. Nothing is corrugated inside, leaving the waste to flow freely and rinse easily.

Begs the question..WHAT DID YOU EAT? Lol.

Glad your wife insisted you go to the hospital and glad you are on the mend.
I never use gloves but I'll start using my leather gloves.

Thanks. One more reason for my poop free tank. I also spray everything with disinfectant, my hoses, RV outlet, sewer cap, water spigots, fresh water hoses, etc.

Glad you're going to be OK. Thanks for letting us know about the hazard. I guess I'm glad I don't have to use the kind of hose the OP mentioned.

Sorry you went through this bad experience and thankful you are on the mend. Appreciate the wake up notice. I use leather gloves, but think I will not get some of those kevlar gloves someone mentioned.
Thanks,

This post is why I am glad that I purchased the below, I appreciate the OP letting everyone know to be careful when using that type of hose.

Wow! What a story.
Glad you are better, and had a good team of doctors and lab-techs.

Last summer had a similar incident, with our sewer hose. Got very sick in a matter of hours. I was lucky. Everything was over 3 days later.

Thank you.

This will change the way I handle dumping our black tank. From now on I will use leather gloves with the slim plastic gloves over that, rather than just using the plastic gloves. Scary story, but perhaps it will save some lives.
