Need Help: Crimped Aqua Hot Hose

Ok all of you armchair Entegra Engineers here is your chance to excel. While in Idaho late last month we needed some heat in the coach and I, for the 1st time since I have owned the coach, put on the Aqua hot zones 1 and 2 for the bedroom and living room/kitchen. The Zone two for the living room/kitchen would only blow cold air. I checked under the bottom drawer in the kitchen and did notice that the hoses were crimped. I did read a few posts about this particular problem in the 45B Cornerstones but I did not see any concrete ways to fix the problem. I have taken off the end panel of the kitchen counter and attached pictures of the several kinks of the 3/4" hose supply and return lines. It is a very small space that the hose has to move around in when extending/retracting the slide.

If there is any specific hardware that might fix the problem please let me know or send a picture. I will attempt this as a DIY project but may, in the long run, need to take the coach to a repair facility for warranty work.

Wow ....they had to know this was not going to work.

Looking at the picture it almost looks like it the two hoses were a couple feet longer you might be able to make a loop. This might allow the hose to move with the slide without creating a kink.

Good luck

Need Help: Crimped Aqua Hot Hose

Consider installing several 90 degree fittings, at the point the hose is kinked. These fitting are available at most auto parts stores.

It doesn't appear from the photos that those hoses have to flex or move whether the slide is in or out, correct? I made that assumption based on the tie-downs that are used to keep the hoses stationary.

If that's the case then buy a bunch of plastic fittings, 45's and 90's and clamps, and install in those areas where you need to remove the kinks. You can also shorten the nose where possible and re-position the tie-downs to a different location allowing the hose to flow better.

Make sure that the hose path remains the same whether the slide is in or out.

From what Rodger Burke told me, you can cut the hose and take out the extra length. Then reconnect the fittings. What air will go into the overflow/expansion tank. You may lose some coolant. Ernie

Been there done that. On my anthem this exact thing was happening. Some guys put those garden hose springs you can buy to prevent the kink.. I tried a couple other methods with not much success . I left my bottom kitchen drawer out and just checked
Each time my slides were out as I could reach in there and straighten them.. that was my temporary solution.. then at my pdi 2 months ago Entegra re routed them .. they told me that the hoses were installed backwards .. for what ever that means..
When they kink it totally messes up the flow.. which totally messes with your whole heating system, so I would get a shop to ensure its right.

I think before I cut the hose to shorten I would purchase some of those black and white clamps then reposition the hose (if at all possible) like a serpentine down that wall. May or may not work but the installer sure let you with a mess. Makes me wonder what happened to the QC during production.

They say that during the 2013 and early 2014 production on entegras factory line had some quality control issues,, a few real noticeable items people had big issues with, Entegra has honored these issues also from what I have heard.. I have a 14 and am real happy with it.. these Aqua hot hoses was one of those issues..

production line coaches have prints, guidelines and paid by the hour employees who chose not to follow the prints. going back to the factory not only wastes your time, but costs the factory money to correct the obvious
good you have this rectified

Would some of the plastic pex turn supports work? Looks like you could add a couple of those and not have to cut the pex line. Maybe change a few ties, out? Let me know if this is possible.

Just used a small pry bar and removed the trim pieces first. I then reached behind the panel and pushed out the bottom a little and used the pry bar to remove the panel. I have removed all the old brads from the trim pieces and the panel and will use my nail gun to reinstall the woodwork when finished with the project.
