New issue to deal with - what next?
OK, never expected this.
Toad was rear-ended this weekend. Pretty hard too. Hard enough to push us into the car in front. Called the insurance company and filed a claim. They recommended a repair facility an hour away. I asked for one a little closer but they didn't have one listed but said I could go to almost any shop I choose.
Found one that is part of a national chain, had good reviews and a decent looking shop. Called and asked if they would work with my insurer and no problem, bring it over. Dropped off the car and filled out the paperwork. Told them I needed it soon, it is my toad. No problem. They would call the insurance and have an adjuster come out for the inspection.
Adjuster called today and said he looked at the car and so far about 7-8 thousand in damage, and it is fixable. But he has bad news. Oh? The shop declines to repair this Jeep?!?!
I asked what the issue was. He said they will not work on modified cars. I asked what modification? He said, and I verified it, we will not repair a vehicle with receivers in the front for towing. I asked why not? Answer - too much liability for them? So, looking for another shop.
Ever heard of such a thing?
