New tire replacment manufactured dates

For those that have replaced tires recently. What age(manufacturers date of tires) are you receiving and where are you getting them from.
Trying to find the best source to get freshly manufactured tires.
Thanks, GrAndy

Mine were ordered and installed at Spartan and the date was about 4 months old. Pricing was through FMCA.

I purchased my last set from Blvd Tires. What they had in stock were a year old. I told them no, they called the warehouse in Tampa, 3 months old, 2 days to get so we scheduled the appointment.

I bought my last set from Discount tires and they were a month old. I told them I wanted tires less than 6 months old and they searched around until they found a set in Oklahoma.

I tried to order some online but they would only guarantee they would be under 4 years old. I know I have read that time in the warehouse was not a problem but if I am paying $1200 for a set of tires I want them new.

About 6 months old, 2019s and in stock, Eugene OR. Wyatt Tire. They did a good job. The original tires were Mar 2013 on my 2015 purchased in Aug 2014.

At what age should you replace the tires? Even if they have good tread on them and look good...

My last set the sidewalls had lost their flex at 7 years. Tires looked perfect but road like a square wheeled lumber wagon. Michelin says 7 to 10 years, but mine aged out in 7. That was inside stored.

I just ordered 2 new Michelin steers on my 14 anthem..

Ordered from simple tire on line

Just came to my doorstep yesterday

Dates on tires are 2/20

Sweet... cannot get much newer than that

I think it’s smart to get your tires from a high volume seller ... then there always
The freshest ..

My old tire dates were 2013

On my steers I wouldn’t want to go much further than 7 years personally..

On my rears I will go a couple more years..

Can’t wait to feel that new rubber on the road... nothing like it... soft and quiet..

My old ones had some inner wear
It was time...

I am also going to do a front end alignment for icing on the cake...

On my previous MH I replaced the 6 year old Michelin's,2005, with new ones. 2011 at 42k . While at the dealer getting them replaced I happened to meet the dealers Rep. from their three retreading facilities. While we were looking at the pile of my old tires, looking like new, I said what a waste, are you going to recap them? He said NO, we will Not retread a tire with a date code over five years. I don't know if it was just their policy or a DOT regulation. Me being a frugal, cheap Irish, it was hard to swallow. But I did sleep a wee bit better after.

BTW, I requested tire dates of less than 3 months. They were.

Let your conscience be your guide.

Guess you could zero in the brand of tire and your price point and....contact tire stores nearby and put in writing that you want xx tires and will only purchase if they have a DOT date of..... Otherwise you will decline shipment. Get their confirmation.

I really would get them inspected by someone that knows tires every year after five years. I didn’t see the cracks on my tires (particularly the steers) and thought I could go another year, to the seven year point. That would have been an unnecessary risk as while the tread look good, they had cracks around the lettering.

Ordered mine through a local tire place and the 6 I received were 4-6 months old.

Tire age question

Tire age was not something I checked since I bought my coach new. After reading this and other threads about tire age I decided to check mine. I have looked over every square inch of my Michelins and cannot find a date. In fact the only place that looks like it was stamped on rather than molded in had some numbers and letters that in no way resembled a date.

Can any one steer me in the right direction?

Check on the inside. They definitely have a date, but depending how they were installed it can wind up on the inside.
