New to 30 amp question
We haven't had to plug into 30 amp very often and I've come up with a question.
I use one of the Progressive surge protectors that displays the amp draw on both line 1 and line 2.
We're plugged into a 30 amp box and, as expected, I can read the amp draw for both lines.
Question; can I pull up to 30 amps off of both lines (60 amps total) or is it just 30 amps total from the both lines?
Thanks, ya'll.....

......and, if you have a step down plug from 30amp to 15 or 20amp outlet at your house, then it’s still a total of 15 or 20amp for the entire motorhome from that plug.
That’s usually enough if you’re visiting with friends at their house. It will provide power to run the fridge, the converter, a television. Remember, it’s like being plugged into ONE duplex outlet in a house.

That 30 amp box is protected by a 30 amp breaker, not a 60.

Thanks, folks.
That's kinda what I thought the answer would be, 30 amps total from both lines....

Uh, 30 amp only has one line feeding power. I assume you have a 50 amp RV and using an adapter which takes one 30 amp feed and splits it to feed 30 amps total to L1 and L2.
30 amp allows 3,600 watts. 30 x 120 = 3,600 watts
50 amp is 12,000 watts total. 50 x 120 x 2 = 12,000 watts
