New update from Spartan on DEF issues

I did too! After having the Spartan on my 2020 DS4369, I got tired of the issues and lack of service locations. So, after my dealer told me he was now ordering mostly Freightliner, and talking to my NIRVC tech, who said he saw far fewer issues with Freightliner vs Spartan, I went with Freightliner on my 2022 DS4369.

I have to say I am very happy with my choice. After driving several thousand miles, I prefer the way the Freightliner drives, and I didn’t have to spent big $ to change the front shocks on a brand new rig like I did with the Spartan. It steers better, rides over the bumps better, and I have several great Freightliner shops in Salt Lake City alone, vs one Spartan shop in all of Utah.

My local Freightliner dealer also did all the work on my Tiffin Allegro Bus Powerglide chassis for me. Plus, I saved over $6,000 that Spartan wanted for their “upgrade” fee!

I just wish Entegra and Newmar would go to FCCC on their "big rigs"

It is good that we Class A diesel owners have two chassis choices. We prefer Spartan chassis but those who have FL chassis also prefer their choice. If we end up with only one chassis company we won't see the improvements we have seen the last decade.

I absolutely agree! I would hate to see Spartan leave the market. Competition is good. When Freightliner had so many issues, I bought a Spartan. Then having had my Spartan, and seeing how many issues they have had lately, I bought my Freightliner.
