NIRVC's Customer Appreciation

At NIRVC's customer appreciation at the Texas Motor Speedway near Ft Worth. First night FANTASTIC meal and then casino night followed by auction. About 130 rigs, and all are having a good time. This afternoon, Go-Kart racing.

Not a problem Bruce - we'll talk bad about you behind your back the same as we would if you were here.

On a more serious note, I wish you'd been able to make it as I would have enjoyed the opportunity to meet you.

I've bought two coaches from them and never heard a word about this ....

Did I make someone mad?

Same here. When I asked about it I was told that last year's appreciation rally was cancelled due to COVID and only those who were registered for that one got invites for this one.

I have two friends there and would have loved to go. Maybe next year..

Yep!

I didn't get an invite either. I know I constantly make people mad. There are a few on this forum that will vouch for that.

What follows is includes some speculation on my part, but for what it may be worth...

For the past several years, NIRVC's annual Customer Appreciation Rally has been held at Winstar Resort & Casino on the Texas/Oklahoma border. The 2020 C.A. rally was cancelled because of the various restrictions associated with the COVID virus. Those who had registered for the 2020 rally were offered the option to receive a refund or let their payments carry over to the 2021 Customer Appreciation Rally. Amy & I chose the carryover option and I suspect many others did as well.

The original plan was to hold the 2021 Customer Appreciation Rally at Winstar. At some point not all that long ago, it became apparent that wasn't going to be do-able. A decision was made to move the 2021 C.A. Rally to Texas Motor Speedway, in conjunction with an IndyCar Series racing event.

I don't have any insight to how many registrants for the cancelled 2020 C.A. Rally chose to let their payments carry over, nor do I have any insight regarding the exact number of coaches that could be accommodated here at the speedway versus how many could have been accommodated at Winstar. But I'm going to assume, as noted above, that most of the registrants for the 2020 C.A. Rally elected to let their payments ride and I don't believe many if any more coaches could have been accommodated here at the speedway versus the number that could have been accommodated at Winstar.

Assuming all or most of that is accurate, it would explain why the 2021 C.A. rally wasn't widely publicized and why invitations weren't extended to NIRVC customers who weren't previously registered for the cancelled 2020 C.A. Rally.

I'll see if I can obtain more detailed info tomorrow, but for now that is my best guess regarding what occurred.

As promised, I obtained some additional information regarding the 2021 NIRVC Customer Appreciation Rally (CAR) currently underway at Texas Motor Speedway.

- NIRVC has always and will continue to limit the number of CAR attendees in light of what a given venue can accommodate and the expenses associated with hosting the rally.

- With regard to expenses, NIRVC does charge a fee to attend but the total fees collected don’t begin to cover the cost of staging the rally.

- As noted in my post above, the 2020 CAR was cancelled due to COVID restrictions. Registrants for that rally had the option to have their registration fee refunded or rolled forward to the 2021 rally. Less than ten people chose the refund; all the others rolled their registration to 2021.

- NIRVC felt it would be borderline chaotic to e-mail the entire customer base with less than ten slots available for the 2021 rally. Instead they posted the availability of those few slots on the NIRVC website (under the “Events” heading). The spots were gone in less than an hour.

- With regard to e-mails, NIRVC maintains a data base of customer e-mail addresses. When they’ve received complaints from customers about not receiving e-mails, the most common cause has been that the customer has somehow opted out of receiving NIRVC e-mails. I wrote “somehow” because such opt-outs can be deliberate or inadvertent. If you want to be sure you’re opted-in, send an e-mail to dcaldwell@nirvc.com and ask to be included.

- Brett asked me to assure everyone that he loves all his children equally, but in this case he’s sending “a little bit extra” to Bruce (“buddy110”), Gary (“Gary.Jones”), John (“Johnontheroad”), Chuck (“brobox”) and Ernie (“mymyst”).
